Adjust the Aileron Control Wing Cables AA and AB (Inboard Ailerons to Outboard Ailerons)

 (1)  
Do this task: "Supply Electrical Power" (Ref 24-22-00/201).

Do this task to supply systems No. 1 and 4, or 2 and 3 hydraulic power: "Supply Hydraulic Power" (Ref 29-11-00/201).

Set the aileron trim system at the center:

 (a)  
Operate the trim switches until you can easily install rig pin A/S-2.

 (b)  
Manually turn the control wheel to make sure that the trim roller is in the cam detent.

Make sure you can easily install rig pins A/S-6 and A/S-7 in the left and right aileron programmers.

Move the flap control lever to the 1-unit detent position to extend the leading edge group "A" flaps.

 CAUTION: DO NOT INCREASE OR DECREASE PITOT STATIC PRESSURE MORE THAN 4
_______ KNOTS EACH SECOND. THIS IS TO PREVENT POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO THE LOCKOUT MECHANISM.
 (6)  If you use the pitot static system to lockout the outboard aileron actuator, decrease the pitot static pressure to ambient (AMM 34-11-00/201).

 (7)  If you use the tool G27033 Adapter Cable to lockout the outboard aileron, do these steps to remove the G27033 Adapter Cable: (a) Open this circuit breaker and attach a DO-NOT-CLOSE tag: 1) P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel a) 7D18, OUTBD AILERON LOCKOUT (b) Disconnect G27033 adapter cable. (c) Connect airplane wiring to actuator. (d) Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tag and close this circuit breaker: 1) P7 Overhead Circuit Breaker Panel a) 7D18, OUTBD AILERON LOCKOUT

 (8)  Open the access panels, (573AB, left; 673AB, right) on the wing trailing edge and forward of the aileron (Ref 06-09-08/201).

 (9)  Make sure you can easily install rig pins A/S-8 and A/S-9 in the left and right inboard aileron quadrants (Fig. 504).

 Make sure to adjust the corner of the inboard TE of each outboard aileron 0.35 to 0.50 inch below the wing TE.

 (a)
Remove all the rig pins.

 (b)  
Tighten the cables to two times the specified tension load (Fig. 501).

 (c)  
Turn the control wheels through 20 full cycles.

 Do these steps if you cannot install the rig pins freely, the aileron adjustment and the cable tension is out of tolerance, or a new cable was installed:

 (a)  
Install rig pins A/S-8 and A/S-9 in the inboard aileron quadrants (Fig. 504).

 (b)  
Adjust the cables until you get these conditions: 1) The inboard trailing edge corners of the ailerons are set


 0.35 to 0.50 inch below the wing trailing edge.
 2)  The tension of the cables is not more than the specified limits (Fig. 501).
 (c)  
Remove the all rig pins.

 (d)  
Operate the ailerons through a minimum of one cycle, with the system at the neutral position when you stop. 1) Make sure the aileron position stays between 0.35 to 0.50

 inch below the wing trailing edge. 2) Make sure the tension of the cables is in the limits (Fig. 501).
