Procedure


 S 422-013
 (1)  
Install the aileron programmer (Fig. 201):

 (a)  
Set the aileron programmer (14 and 21) into its position.

 (b)  
Install the bolts (22, 25, 27, and 30), washers (23, 26, 28, and 31) and nuts (24, 29, and 32) (Details C, D, E, and F, Fig. 201).

 (c)  
Connect the support rods (20) to the lower inboard side of the programmer with the bolt (16), washer (17), bushing (19), and nut (18).

 (d)  
Attach cables AA (12) and AB (13) to the quadrant (1).

 (e)  
Install the cotter pins.

 (2)  
Connect the cables at the turnbuckles.

 (3)  
Adjust the tension of the cables:

 (a)  
Tighten the cables to two times the usual tension load.

 (b)  
Turn the programmer quadrant by hand to make sure that you install the cables correctly.

 (c)  
Decrease the cable tension to the specified range (Fig. 202).

 (d)  
Install rig pin A/S-6 (left programmer) or A/S-7 (right programmer).

 (e)  
Adjust cables AA and AB until you can easily install rig pin A/S-8 (left wing) or A/S-9 (right wing).

 (f)  
Install the clip locks on the turnbuckles.

 (4)  
Install the force limiter rod (15) with the bolts (37), washers (38) bushings (39), nuts (40), and cotter pins (41).

 (a)  
Adjust the rod length with the vernier adjustment if it is necessary.

 (b)  
Make sure the dimensions of the vernier adjustment rod end (33) and the sleeve (34) are not out of tolerance (Detail G, Fig. 201).

 (c)  
Tighten the checknuts (35) and the lockwire (36).

Do this task to pressurize hydraulic systems No. 1 and 4 or 2 and 3: "Hydraulic System Pressurization" (Ref 29-11-00/201).

Make sure the central lateral control package is in the neutral position.

 (a)  
Connect the control rod (2, 5) of the central lateral control package (CLCP) to the programmer input crank.

 (b)  
Adjust the control rod until you can easily install the bolt

 that attaches to the programmer.

 (c)  
Tighten the bolt (3) with the collar (4).

Do this task: "Hydraulic System Depressurization" (Ref 29-11-00/201).

If you install the right aileron programmer (14), connect the back drive load limiter rod (11) with the bolt (6), washer (7), bushing (8), and nut (9).

 Make sure you can easily install these rig pins at the same time (Ref 27-11-05/401):

 (a)  
Rig pin A/S-1 in the aileron control load limiter.

 (b)  
Rig pin A/S-3 in the CLCP quadrant.

 (11) If it is necessary, adjust the control rod between the CLCP-left autopilot quadrant and the CLCP-left autopilot.
