A. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
Make sure that the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) is in position at the AFT cargo-compartment door 826.
(2)
Make sure that the AFT cargo-compartment door 826 is open (Ref. TASK 52-30-00-860-001).
(3)
Make sure that the applicable floor panels in the AFT cargo-compartment are removed (Ref. TASK 53-42-14-000-001).
(4)
Make sure that the the insulation blankets are removed as necessary (Ref. TASK 25-80-00-000-001).

A. Preparation for Installation

_______ MATERIALS ONLY WITH A GOOD SUPPLY OF AIR. OBEY THE MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS. PUT ON PROTECTIVE CLOTHING. DO NOT GET THEM IN YOUR MOUTH. DO NOT SMOKE. DO NOT BREATHE THE GAS. THESE MATERIALS ARE POISONOUS, FLAMMABLE AND SKIN IRRITANT. GET MEDICAL HELP IF YOUR SKIN OR EYES BECOME IRRITATED.
(1)
Remove the remaining sealant with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-004), a lint-free cotton cloth MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003) and a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC from the strap (2), the valve retainer
(3) and the structure.
(2)
Make sure that the parts retained from the removed component are clean and in the correct condition.
(3)
Clean the component interface and/or the adjacent area.
(4)
Do an inspection of the component interface and/or the adjacent area.

B. Installation of the Drain Valve
(1)
Put the valve retainer (3) and the strap (2) in the installation position.
(2)
Install the valve retainer (3) and the strap (2) with the pins (4) and the collars (1) (Ref. ASRM 51-42-11-001).

(4) Apply a bead of SEALANTS (Material No. 09-016) to the collars (1). NOTE : Do not apply sealants to the cutouts of the valve retainer
