(d) Remove the container.
(4) Drain the APU Fuel Line: (Ref. Fig. 406/TASK 53-58-11-991-012)
(a) Put a container below the APU vent and drain valve (87) and prepare to drain the unwanted fuel.
WARNING : OBEY THE FUEL SAFETY PROCEDURES.

Remove the cap (86) from the vent and drain valve (87) and install the ADAPTER - VENT AND DRAIN VALVE, APU (85).
(c)
Drain the fuel into the container. NOTE : Fuel will stay in the APU feed hose (upstream of the drain
____ valve, AFT of FR80) after you drain the fuel from the drain valve.
(d)
Remove the container.
(5) Remove the APU fuel line: (Ref. Fig. 405/TASK 53-58-11-991-011)
(a)
Remove the nuts (49), the washers (44) and the bolts (43) and remove the bonding straps (32), (46) and (53).
(b)
Remove and discard the lockwire from the retaining rings (34) and remove the retaining rings.
(c)
Remove the bolts (40), nuts (41) and washers (42) and remove the clamp (52).
(d)
Move the sleeve (54) forward over the shroud (38).
(e)
Disconnect the nut (35) from the union (36) and install the SLIDE CONE - APU FUEL (98D28207510000).
(f)
Remove the sleeve (54) and the shroud (38) from the fuel hose (37).
(g)
Remove and discard the O-rings (51) from the shrouds (38) and (33).
(h)
Put blanking plugs on the disconnected line ends.

(i) Temporarily attach the hose (37) to the aircraft structure at FR77.
(6)
Remove the APU Air Intake Flap: (Ref. Fig. 401/TASK 53-58-11-991-008)
(a)
Disconnect the ball-bearing control cable from the APU intake flap diverter (Ref. TASK 49-16-41-000-001).
(b)
Remove the APU air intake flap (Ref. TASK 49-16-43-000-001).
(7)
Install the Tail Cone Sling: (Ref. Fig. 407/TASK 53-58-11-991-013)
(a)
Attach the SLING - R/I TAILCONE to the crane and put the crane in position.
(b)
Remove the self-adhesive discs which cover the tail-cone hoisting points.
(c)
Remove the hoisting lugs from the hoisting points and install the lugs eye end out of the tail cone structure.
(d)
Attach the hoisting sling to the hoisting lugs.
(8)
Disconnect the Tail Cone: (Ref. Fig. 408/TASK 53-58-11-991-014)
(a)
Remove the screws (68) and the access covers (69).
(b)
Remove the nuts (74), the bolts (75) and the washers (76) and disconnect the bonding strap (71).
(c)
Make sure the tail cone is held by the hoist and that the weight is not on the attach bolts.
(d)
Remove and discard the cotter pins (73).
(e)
Remove the nuts (72) from the attach bolts (70).

(f) Install the EXTRACTOR - ATTACH BOLTS, TAIL CONE (98A53407566005) and remove the attach bolts (70).
NOTE : The tool kit with the partnumber 98A53407566005 supersedes
____ the tool kit with the partnumber 98A53407566002. If only the tool kit with the partnumber 98A53407566002 is available, then it is recommended to continue to use this tool kit.
NOTE : Remove the lower attach bolts before you remove the upper
____
attach bolts.
(g)
Carefully disengage the tail cone from the aircraft.
(h)
Install the tail cone on a stand.
(i) Remove the hoisting equipment. R **ON A/C 106-149, 211-299, 401-499,
Subtask 53-58-11-020-065-A
A. Removal: (Ref. Fig. 401/TASK 53-58-11-991-008, 402/TASK 53-58-11-991-009)
(1) Disconnect the Electrical Systems:
(a)
Disconnect the connectors 7120VC-A/1M and 7118VC-A/1S.
(b)
Disconnect the connector 7116VC and 11LJ.
(c)
Disconnect the electrical wire from the switch 8QC.
(d)
Disconnect the connector 11WF-A and 12WF-A.
(e)
Disconnect the electrical harnesses 6761VN/DC1, 6760VN/B1, 6528VN/DC2 and 6757VN/DC1.
(f)
Remove the clamps from the electrical harnesses 4213VB/1M and 4207VB/1M up to FR77.
(g)
Remove and discard the lockwire from the firewall seal 7138VC/3E at the APU firewall FR80.
