A. Preparation for Installation:
R R (1) Remove the old sealant from the dorsal fin and the aircraft mating surfaces with a SCRAPER - NON METALLIC.
R R R (2) Clean the dorsal fin and aircraft mating surfaces with CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-003) and a lint-free cotton cloth MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003).
WARNING : OBEY THE MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS WHEN YOU USE THE_______ SPECIAL MATERIAL. THIS MATERIAL IS DANGEROUS.
WARNING : USE SOLVENTS/CLEANING AGENTS, SEALANTS AND OTHER SPECIAL_______ MATERIALS ONLY WITH A GOOD SUPPLY OF AIR. OBEY THE MANUFACTURERS INSTRUCTIONS. PUT ON PROTECTIVE CLOTHING. DO NOT GET THEM IN YOUR MOUTH. DO NOT SMOKE. DO NOT BREATHE THE GAS. THESE MATERIALS ARE POISONOUS, FLAMMABLE AND SKIN IRRITANT. GET MEDICAL HELP IF YOUR SKIN OR EYES BECOME IRRITATED.
R R (3) Apply SEALANTS (Material No. 09-018) to the dorsal fin and aircraft mating surfaces (Ref. TASK 51-76-11-300-001).

B. Installation:
(1) Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
R R (2) Attach the SLING - DORSAL FIN, LEADING EDGES, END CAP (98D55307531001) to the crane and the hoisting lug (2).
R R (3) Lift the dorsal fin (4) with the CRANE HEIGHT 10 M (33 FT) and put it in the installation position on the aircraft.
R (4) Install the screws (3) and TORQUE to 0.3 m.daN (26.54 lbf.in).

Make sure that the clearances at points 'a', 'b' and 'c' are as follows:
-
point 'a' is 10.0 +3.5 -3.5 mm (0.3937 +0.1377 -0.1377 in.),
-
point 'b' is 1.0 +1.0 -1.0 mm (0.0393 +0.0393 -0.0393 in.),
-
point 'c' is 3.5 +0.5 -0.5 mm (0.1377 +0.0196 -0.0196 in.).

Disconnect the sling from the hoisting lug (2).
(7)
Remove the hoisting lug (2) from the hoisting point (1).
(8)
Install the plastic plug in the hoisting point (1).
