R  APU vent and drain valve (87) and prepare to drain the unwanted 
R  fuel. 
R  (b) Remove the cap (86) from the vent and drain valve (87) and 
R  install the ADAPTER - VENT AND DRAIN VALVE, APU (85). 
R  (c) Drain the fuel into the container. 
R  NOTE : Fuel will stay in the APU feed hose (upstream of the drain____ 
R  valve, AFT of FR80) after you drain the fuel from the 
R  drain valve. 
R  (d) Remove the container. 
R  (5) Remove the APU fuel line: 
R  (Ref. Fig. 405/TASK 53-58-11-991-011) 
R  (a) Remove the nuts (49), the washers (44) and the bolts (43) and 
R  remove the bonding straps (32), (46) and (53). 
R  (b) Remove and discard the lockwire from the retaining rings (34) and 
R  remove the retaining rings.

 

R  (c) Remove the bolts (40), nuts (41) and washers (42) and remove the 
R  clamp (52). 
R  (d) Move the sleeve (54) forward over the shroud (38). 
R  (e) Disconnect the nut (35) from the union (36) and install the SLIDE 
R  CONE - APU FUEL (98D28207510000). 
R  (f) Remove the sleeve (54) and the shroud (38) from the fuel hose 
R  (37). 
R  (g) Remove and discard the O-rings (51) from the shrouds (38) and 
R  (33). 
R  (h) Put blanking plugs on the disconnected line ends. 
R  (i) Temporarily attach the hose (37) to the aircraft structure at 
R  FR77. 
R  (6) Remove the APU Air-Intake Flap: 
R  (Ref. Fig. 401/TASK 53-58-11-991-008) 
R  (a) Disconnect the ball-bearing control cable from the APU intake 
R  flap diverter (Ref. TASK 49-16-41-000-002). 
R  (b) Remove the APU air-intake flap (Ref. TASK 49-16-43-000-002). 
R  (7) Install the Tail Cone Sling: 
R  (Ref. Fig. 407/TASK 53-58-11-991-013) 
R  (a) Attach the SLING - R/I TAILCONE to the crane and put the CRANE 
R  HEIGHT 15 M (50 FT) in position. 
R  (b) Remove the self-adhesive discs which cover the tail-cone hoisting 
R  points. 
R  (c) Remove the hoisting lugs from the hoisting points and install the 
R  lugs with their eye-ends out of the tail cone structure. 
R  (d) Attach the hoisting sling to the hoisting lugs. 
R  (8) Disconnect the Tail Cone: 
R  (Ref. Fig. 408/TASK 53-58-11-991-014) 
R  (a) Remove the screws (68) and the access covers (69). 

 

R  (b) Remove the nuts (74), the bolts (75) and the washers (76) and 
R  disconnect the bonding strap (71). 
R  (c) Make sure that the tail cone is held by the hoist and that the 
R  weight is not on the attach bolts. 
R  (d) Remove and discard the cotter pins (73). 
R  (e) Remove the nuts (72) from the attach bolts (70). 
R  (f) Install the EXTRACTOR - ATTACH BOLTS, TAIL CONE (98A53407566005) 
R  and remove the attach bolts (70). 
R  NOTE : The tool kit with the partnumber 98A53407566005 supersedes____ 
R  the tool kit with the partnumber 98A53407566002. If only 
R  the tool kit with the partnumber 98A53407566002 is 
R  available, then it is recommended to continue to use this 
R  tool kit. 
R  NOTE : Remove the lower attach bolts before you remove the upper____ 
R  attach bolts. 
R  (g) Carefully disengage the tail cone from the aircraft. 
R  (h) Install the tail cone on a stand. 
R  (i) Remove the hoisting equipment.
