A. Get Access
(1)
Put the ACCESS PLATFORM 2M (6 FT) in position below the bulk cargo-compartment door.
(2)
Open the bulk cargo-compartment door (Ref. TASK 52-30-00-860-006).
(3)
Remove the floor panels 161AF and 162JF (Ref. TASK 53-42-17-000-001) in the bulk cargo compartment.

B. Preparation of the Inspection Areas
(Ref. Fig. 662/TASK 53-41-00-991-092)
WARNING : OBEY THE MANUFACTURER'S INSTRUCTIONS WHEN YOU USE THIS/THESE
_______ MATERIAL/S. USE PROTECTIVE CLOTHING, RUBBER GLOVES, GOGGLES AND A MASK.
WARNING : MAKE SURE THAT THERE IS A GOOD FLOW OF AIR THROUGH THE WORK
_______ AREA WHEN YOU USE SPECIAL MATERIALS. IF YOU GET ONE OF THESE MATERIALS ON YOUR SKIN, IN YOUR MOUTH OR IN YOUR EYES : -FLUSH IT AWAY WITH A FLOW OF CLEAN WATER FOR BETWEEN 10 AND 15 MINUTES. -GET IMMEDIATE MEDICAL AID IF IRRITATION OCCURS. DO NOT BREATHE THE FUMES FROM THE MATERIAL. DO NOT SMOKE WHEN YOU USE THE MATERIAL. DO NOT USE THE MATERIAL NEAR A FLAME, SPARKS OR SOURCES OF HEAT. THESE MATERIALS ARE DANGEROUS : THEY ARE POISONOUS, FLAMMABLE AND SKIN IRRITANTS.
(1)
Make sure that the surfaces of the inspection areas are clean.
(2)
If necessary, clean the surface of the inspection areas with the CLEANING AGENTS (Material No. 11-004) and a lint-free cotton cloth MISCELLANEOUS (Material No. 19-003).
(3)
If necessary, make the surface of the inspection areas smooth with the abrasive cloth, grade 280 .
(4)
Make sure that the inspection areas are clean and dry before you continue.
(5)
Do a visual inspection of the surfaces of the inspection areas. Look for damage, and defects in the shape of the surfaces.
(6)
If you find damage:
(a)
Refer to the ASRM (Ref. ASRM 51-11-00-001) for the classification of the damage.
(b)
If you find corrosion damage:
-
refer to the ASRM (Ref. ASRM 51-22-00-001) for the general corrosion data
-
refer to the AMM (Ref. AMM 51-74-00-001) for the repair of the corroded areas.
(c)
If you find other types of damage:
-refer to the ASRM (Ref. ASRM 53-41-11-101) for the necessary data.
