A. Removal of the Scuff Plates: R NOTE : The scuff plates can become damaged during the subsequent removal

(1)
Remove the screws (1) and the washers (2).
(2)
Remove the sealant from around the scuff plate sections (3), (4) and
(5) with a nonmetallic scraper.
(3)
Apply a hot air blower to the scuff plate sections (3), (4) and (5). NOTE : Do not let the temperature of the scuff plates increase more
____ than 100 +50 -0 deg.C (212.00 +90.00 -0.00 deg.F).
(4)
Loosen the scuff plate sections with a nonmetallic wedge. CAUTION : MAKE SURE THAT YOU DO NOT DAMAGE THE FUSELAGE WHEN YOU

REMOVE THE SCUFF PLATES.

Remove the scuff plate sections (3), (4) and (5).
