(1) Put the access platform in position at the access door 824 in zone

B. Aircraft Maintenance Configuration
(1)
Energize the aircraft electrical circuits
(Ref. TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(2)
Do a print out of the engine and APU hours and cycles (Ref. TASK 31-36-00-740-007) (Ref. TASK 31-36-00-740-006).
NOTE : This prevents the loss of engine and APU hours and cycles.

(3) Make sure that the OPERATING/STORAGE switch of the DMU is in OPERATING position.
NOTE : This enable the battery backup buffering of all internal DMU
____ data stored in the volatile memory in case of external power shut-down.
(4)
On the front panel of the DMU open the left flap to get access to the DMU front connector.
(5)
On the Portable Data Loader (PDL) make sure that the ON/OFF switch is in the OFF position.
(6)
Connect the Adapter Cable to the DMU front connector.
(7)
Connect the Adapter Cable to the PDL interface.
(8)
Make sure all software disks 1TV1, 1TV2 are not write-protected.
