B. Installation of the Filter NOTE : If, during the "Preparation for Installation", you find that the
____ shim (9) is not necessary, then ignore the text which refers to the shim.
(1)
Lubricate the new O-ring (7) with HYDRAULIC FLUIDS (Material No. 02-003).
(2)
Put the O-ring (7) on the filter (8).
(3)
Do a check of the filter (8) and make sure that it is clean and not damaged.
(4)
Carefully put the filter (8) in the port (6).
(5)
Lubricate the new O-ring (10) with HYDRAULIC FLUIDS (Material No. 02-003).
(6)
Put the O-ring (10) on the filter plug (11).
(7)
Lubricate the threads of the filter plug (11) and the shim (9) with HYDRAULIC FLUIDS (Material No. 02-003).
(8)
Put the shim (9) in the filter plug (11). Make sure that the shim is installed correctly.
(9)
Install the filter plug (11) with the shim (9) in the port (6).
(10)
Torque the filter plug (11) to between 1.08 and 1.36 m.daN (95.57 and
120.35 lbf.in).
(11)
Safety the filter plug (11) with lockwire, corrosion resistant steel dia 0.8 mm (0.0315 in.).

D. Test
(1)
Pressurize the reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system (Ref. TASK 29-14-00-614-002).
(2)
Make sure that the level of the fluid in the reservoir of the Blue hydraulic system is correct. Add fluid as necessary (Ref. TASK 12-12-29-611-001) or (Ref. TASK 12-12-29-611-002).
(3)
Pressurize the Blue hydraulic system (Ref. TASK 29-10-00-863-003).
(4)
Examine the filter plug and make sure that there are no leaks.
(5)
Make sure that the clogging indicator does not show a blocked filter.
5. Close-up

A. Put the aircraft back to the serviceable condition.
(1)
Remove the container from below the RAT.
(2)
Make sure that the work area is clean and clear of tool(s) and other items.
(3)
Retract the RAT (Ref. TASK 29-22-00-869-002).
(4)
Depressurize the Blue hydraulic system (Ref. TASK 29-10-00-864-003).
(5)
Remove the warning notice(s).
