Do a check of the axial alignment of the pipes with the port in the leg assy (58) as follows:
(a)
Estimate the thickness of the shims (5), (10) and (36), (45) and washers (4), (15) and (35), (46) required to centralize each pipe in its relative port within 0.005 in. (0.1269 mm).
(b)
Remove hydraulic pump (25), remove the pipes and install shims (5), (10) and (36), (45) and washers (4), (15) and (35), (46) up to a maximum thickness of 0.125 in. (3.1749 mm) to correctly position each pipe.
(c)
When this adjustment is satisfactorily obtained, tighten the unions (7), (8) and (38), (39) to temporarily secure pipe assemblies.

Make sure that the hydraulic pump (25) and the pipe assemblies are
removed.
(7)
Measure the depth of the threaded counter bore of the leg assy port, dimension 'X' and record the dimension for each pipe assembly.
(8)
Measure the thickness 'Y' of the flange of the pipe-end fittings (6),
(9) and (37), (40) and record the dimension.
(9)
Install the hydraulic pump (25) and pipe assemblies on the leg assy
(58) and engage the quill shaft (55) with the hydraulic pump (25) and align the stud holes.
(10)
Make sure that the pipes enter the leg ports centrally and then seat the hydraulic pump (25).
(11)
Make sure that the pipes are not strained or misaligned.
(12)
With the union withdrawn, measure the length from the face of the leg to the end installing flange, dimension 'Z' and record the dimension.
(13)
Add dimension 'Y' to 'Z' and subtract from 'X'. Shim thickness = X - (Y + Z) + 0.005 in. (0.1269 mm).
(14)
Prepare shims (5), (45) and (10), (36) and washers (4), (46) and (15), (35) equal in thickness to the resulting length to within 0.005 in. (0.1269 mm) up to a maximum of 0.125 in. (3.1749 mm).

Remove the hydraulic pump (25) and the pipe assemblies.
(16)
Lubricate the new O-rings (2), (17), (29) and (48) with HYDRAULIC FLUIDS (Material No. 02-003).
(17)
Install the new O-ring (17) and O-ring (29) on the pipe end-fittings
(9) and (37).
(18)
Install the new back-up ring (16), back-up ring (18), back-up ring
(28) and back-up ring (30) on the pipe end-fittings (9) and (37).
(19)
Install the necessary shim (10) and shim (36) and washer (15) and washer (35) and insert the pipe in the relative ports of the hydraulic pump (25).
(20)
Only handtighten the unions (8) and (38) at this time.
(21)
Lubricate the O-ring (27) with HYDRAULIC FLUIDS (Material No. 02-003).

Install the O-ring (27) on the spigot of the hydraulic pump (25).

Install the new O-ring (2) and O-ring (48) on the pipe end-fittings
(6) and (40).

Lubricate the hydraulic pump (25) and leg mating surfaces and the studs (50) with COMMON GREASE (Material No. 04-004).

Install the new backup-ring (1), backup-ring (3), backup-ring (47) and backup-ring (49) on the pipe end-fittings (6) and (40).

Install the necessary shim (5) and shim (45) and washers (4) and washers (46) on the pipe end-fittings (6) and (40).

Align the holes of the hydraulic pump (25) with the studs (50). NOTE : Make sure that the hydraulic pump (25) stays level when you

move it on the quill shaft (55).
(28)
Connect the hydraulic pump (25) to the leg assy (58). At the same time guide the pipe end-fittings (6),(40) in their related ports (57),(56) of the leg assy (58).
(29)
Only handtighten the unions (7),(39) at this time.
(30)
Install the nuts (26) on the studs (50).
(31)
Torque the nuts (26) to between 2.0 and 2.3 m.daN (14.74 and 16.96 lbf.ft).
(32)
Torque the unions (8),(38),(7),(39) to between 6.50 and 6.78 m.daN
(47.93 and 49.99 lbf.ft).
(33)
Safety the unions (7),(39) with lockwire, corrosion-resistant steel dia 0.8 mm (0.0315 in.).
