(3)
Connect the FILL UNIT - AIR (98D29003501000) to the ground connector 1391GM.
NOTE : If the pressurizing tool is not available, you can use an
____ alternative supply of air. The supply must have a pressure of 5 bar (72.5188 psi) and it must have a filter. The filter must have a rating of 5 microns or better.
(4) A supply (approximately 40 l (10.5667 USgal) of HYDRAULIC FLUIDS (Material No. 02-003) is necessary. You can use:
-an approved hydraulic ground-service cart,
-the hand pump 1009GM of the reservoir filling system which is part of the aircraft equipment.
(a)
To connect the hydraulic ground-service cart to the aircraft:
(b)
If no hydraulic ground-service cart is available, connect the hand pump 1009GM as follows:
1_ On the ground service panel of the Green hydraulic system,
remove the blanking cap from the reservoir fill connection
1007GM.
2_ Connect the hose of the hydraulic ground-service cart to the
reservoir fill connection.
1 Remove the blanking cap from the reservoir fill valve 1698GM
_ on the hand pump 1009GM.
2 Get the flexible hose 1699GM from its stowage in the ground
_ service panel of the Green hydraulic system.
3 Connect the flexible hose to the reservoir fill valve.
_ 4 Put the other end of the flexible hose in a container of clean
_ hydraulic fluid.
5 Get the hand pump lever 3270GM from its position in the ground
_ service panel of the Yellow hydraulic system.
6 Connect the hand pump lever to the hand pump 1009GM.
_
7 Extend the hand pump lever.
_
(5)
Connect a low-pressure hydraulic hose with a 9/16-18 UNJF female adapter to the drain valve of the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system.
(6)
Put the free end of the hose into a container which can hold the fluid from the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system.
(7)
Look at the quantity indicator of the three reservoirs and write down the quantity of hydraulic fluid in each reservoir.
(8)
Set the ground connector 1391GM on the air pressurization manifold 1370GM to OPEN.
(9)
Fill the reservoirs with air to a pressure of 50 psig (refer to the gages on the reservoirs to find the air pressure). Keep the supply of air constant so that the pressure in the reservoirs is always more than 35 psig (2.5 bar). If the air supply is not constant, the pressure decreases when you drain the fluid from the reservoirs.
4. Procedure
_________
Subtask 29-31-00-710-050
A. Do this test:
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------ACTION RESULT -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
1. On the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system:
R R - carefully open the drain valve,
R R R R R R - control the flow of fluid and let the content of the reservoir decrease slowly.
R R R R R R
-the fluid quantity of the reservoir decreases.
When the fluid quantity indicator 1834GQ on the Green ground service panel, or the quantity indicator of the reservoir shows the fluid quantity between 3.4 l (0.9 US gal) and 2.6 l
(0.69 US gal):
- on the ECAM lower Display Unit (DU):
*
the fluid quantity indication of the GREEN system shows the low fluid level,
*
the color of the fluid quantity
indication changes from green to
amber,
- on the ECAM upper DU:
* the message HYD-G-RSVR LO LVL and
related actions come on. - on the overhead panel 40VU:
*
the GREEN/ENG 1/PUMP/FAULT light comes on,
*
the PTU/FAULT light comes on.
-the single chime audio warning operates,
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------ACTION RESULT -------------------------------------------------------------------------------
2. On the reservoir of the Green hydraulic system:
- let the drain valve go back to the closed position.
