R  B. Before each flight, do the subsequent procedure to make sure that:
 - the low level indication operates correctly and
 - the reservoir quantity is correct. 

R  (1) Make sure that the aircraft configuration is:
 - the thrust reverser for the right engine OFF (closed),
 - the speedbrakes and the spoilers retracted,
 - Yellow power accumulator empty of fluid and filled with nitrogen to
 the correct pressure,
 - FWD and AFT cargo-compartment doors closed. 

R  - All of the other hydraulic services can be in any positions. 

R  (2) Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. TASK 24-41-00-861-
002). 

R  (3) Do the EIS start procedure (Upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only)
 (Ref. TASK 31-60-00-860-002). 

R  (4) Drain the Yellow reservoir until the low level warning comes on 
R  (Ref. TASK 29-10-00-680-002).
 NOTE : Keep the air pressure in the reservoir at not less than 22____
 psig (1.5 bar relative) while you drain the fluid. 

R  (5) Put the fluid into the Yellow reservoir to fill it to its normal fill 
R  level (Ref. TASK 12-12-29-611-001). 

R  The quantity of fluid which it is necessary to add is:
 - with the brake accumulator empty of fluid but filled with nitrogen
 to the correct pressure: 12 l (3.2 USgal),
 - with the brake accumulator full of fluid at the system pressure of
 206 bar (3000 psi): 9 l (2.4 USgal).

 

 NOTE : These quantities are for fluid temperatures between 10 and 20____ deg. C (50 and 68 deg. F). If the temperature is out of these limits, the quantity of fluid necessary changes by 0.5 l (0.13 USgal) for each 10 deg. C (18 deg. F).
 (6) Do the EIS stop procedure (Ref. TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
 (7) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
 (8) Put a warning notice in the flight compartment to tell the crew - that the Yellow hydraulic quantity indication does not operate, - that a check of the contents of the Yellow reservoir must be done before each flight, - that the low level warning system operates.
