B. Before each flight, do the subsequent procedure at the applicable
reservoir to make sure that:
-
the low level indication operates correctly and
-
the reservoir quantity is correct.
(1)
Make sure that the aircraft configuration is:
(a)
For deactivation of the Green reservoir indication:
-
the landing gear extended with the landing gear doors closed (one main door of the main gear can be open),
-
the thrust reverser for the left engine OFF (closed),
-
the speedbrakes and the spoilers retracted,
-Green power accumulator empty of fluid and filled with nitrogen to the correct pressure.
(b)
For deactivation of the Blue reservoir indication:
-the speedbrakes and the spoilers retracted,
-Blue power accumulator empty of fluid and filled with nitrogen to the correct pressure.
-All of the other hydraulic services can be in any position.
(2)
Energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. TASK 24-41-00-861-002).
(3)
Do the EIS start procedure (Upper ECAM DU and lower ECAM DU only) (Ref. TASK 31-60-00-860-001).
(4)
Drain the applicable reservoir until the low level warning comes on (Ref. TASK 29-10-00-680-001) or (Ref. TASK 29-10-00-680-003).
NOTE : Keep the air pressure in the reservoir at more than 22 psig
____
(1.5 bar relative) while you drain the reservoir.
(5) Put fluid into the reservoir to fill it to its normal fill level (Ref. TASK 12-12-29-611-001). The quantity of fluid which is necessary to add is:
-
for the Green reservoir: 11 l (2.9 USgal)
-
for the Blue reservoir: 4 l (1.05 USgal)
NOTE : These quantities are for fluid temperatures between 10 and 20
____ deg. C (50 and 68 deg. F). If the temperature is out of these limits, the quantity of fluid necessary changes by:
-0.5 l (0.13 USgal) for each 10 deg. C (18 deg. F) for the Green reservoir,
1EFF : ALL 1 29-31-00Page 403 1 1 May 01/04R 1 1 1CES 1
- 0.25 l (0.065 USgal) for each 10 deg. C (18 deg. F) for the Blue reservoir.
(6) Do the EIS stop procedure (Ref. TASK 31-60-00-860-002).
(7) De-energize the aircraft electrical circuits (Ref. TASK 24-41-00-862-002).
(8) Put a warning notice in the flight compartment to tell the crew: - that the Green or Blue hydraulic quantity indication does not operate, - that a check of the fluid contents of the Green or Blue reservoir must be done before each flight, - that the low level warning system operates.
