(a) Flight test condition; Right Trim:
NOTE: Right aileron trim indicates a left wing heavy condition.
1) Increase the height of the right trailing edge approximately 1/2 the total height change.
This is a positive change to the eccentric.
2) Decrease the height of the left trailing edge approximately 1/2 the total height change.
This is a negative change to the eccentric.
(b) Flight test condition; Left Trim:
NOTE: Left aileron trim indicates a right wing heavy condition.
1) Increase the height of the left trailing edge approximately 1/2 the total height change.
This is a positive change to the eccentric.
2) Decrease the height of the right trailing edge approximately 1/2 the total height change.
This is a negative change to the eccentric.
(c) Look at the carriage roller cartridges on the inboard flap to find the current position for the
left wing and the right wing.
NOTE: It is necessary to keep the position of the cartridges on the inboard carriage the
same as the cartridges on the outboard carriage.
(d) Use the carriage roller cartridge position change chart to find the new position for the left
wing rollers and the right wing rollers:
1) Find the current carriage position in the left column of the chart.
2) Follow the row for the current position to the right until you find the approximate height
change for that flap.
3) Follow that column up to find the new carriage position.
NOTE: The final carriage roller cartridge positions should not be more than ±60
degrees.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THE DOWNLOCK PINS ARE INSTALLED ON ALL THE LANDING GEAR.
WITHOUT THE DOWNLOCK PINS, THE LANDING GEAR CAN RETRACT AND CAUSE
INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(3) If the downlock pins are not installed in the nose and main landing gear, do this task: Landing
Gear Downlock Pins Installation, TASK 32-00-01-480-801.

(4) Extend the trailing edge flaps to the 40-unit position. To extend them, do this task: Extend the
Trailing Edge Flaps, TASK 27-51-00-860-803.

(6) Remove these access panels on the wing to body fairing, do this task: Aft Wing To Body Fairing

(7) Change the position of the carriage roller cartridges on the inboard flap (Figure 507):
NOTE: It is necessary to keep the position of the cartridges on the inboard carriage the same
as the cartridges on the outboard carriage.
CAUTION: DO NOT REMOVE MORE THAN ONE CARTRIDGE FROM THE CARRIAGE AT A
TIME. YOU CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(a) Adjust the cartridge [76] and cartridge [85] on the outboard carriage [72]:
NOTE: It is necessary to keep the position of the cartridges on the inboard carriage [72]
the same as the cartridges on the outboard carriage [96].
1) Adjust the outboard cartridge [85]:
a) Remove the bolts [82], washers [93] and the rub block [92] from the retainer [83].
b) Remove the bolts [90] and washers [91] that attach the cartridge [54] to the
outboard carriage [72].
c) Remove the cartridge [85] from the outboard carriage [72].
d) Loosen the nut [87] on the roller [86].
e) Turn the eccentric bushing [84] until the index marks [89] are in the correct position.
You can turn the eccentric bushing in 15 degree increments.
f) Tighten the nut [87] on the roller [86] to 160-975 pound-inches (18.1 to 110.2 newtonmeters).
g) Install the pin [88] in the nut [87].
h) Put the cartridge [85] in its position in the outboard carriage [72].
i) Install the bolts [90] and washers [91] to attach the cartridge [85].
j) Tighten the bolts [90] to 95-110 pound-inches (10.7 to 12.4 newton-meters).
k) Install lockwire between the bolts [90] and the retainer [83].
l) Put the rub block [92] in its position on the retainer [83] and install the bolts [82] and
washers [93].
2) Adjust the inboard cartridge [78]:
a) Remove the bolts [75] and washers [76] that attach the cartridge [78] to the
outboard carriage [72].
