WARNING: MAKE SURE THE DOWNLOCK PINS ARE INSTALLED ON ALL THE LANDING GEARS.
WITHOUT THE DOWNLOCK PINS, THE LANDING GEARS COULD RETRACT AND
CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Do this task: Remove Pressure from the Aileron Hydraulic Systems A and B,
TASK 27-11-00-860-801.
SUBTASK 27-11-31-010-001
(2) Remove the applicable access panels on the lower wing surface at the balance panel.
(a) For the left wing, open these access panels:

E. Aileron Balance Panels Removal
SUBTASK 27-11-31-020-001
(1) Remove the balance panel assembly [22], balance panel assembly [23], balance panel
assembly [24] or balance panel assembly [25]:
(a) Remove the bolts [1] and [14] to remove the seal retainers [27] and [30] from the
aerodynamic seals [15].
(b) Write down the location and number of balance weights [11] installed on the balance panel
assembly [24] or balance panel assembly [25].
(c) Remove the bolts [12] to remove the balance weights [11] from the hinge seal [29].
(d) Remove bolts [4], [5], [21] and bolts [2] with collars [3] to remove the balance weights [19]
and hinge seal [29] from the aileron balance panel assembly [22], panel assembly [23],
panel assembly [24] or panel assembly [25].
(e) Remove the bolts [16] and washers [17] to remove the seal retainer [18] from the hinge seal
[20].
(f) Remove the pins [10], nuts [9], washers [8], washers [7] and bolts [6] to remove the balance
panel assembly [22], balance panel assembly [23], balance panel assembly [24] or balance
panel assembly [25] from the aileron. Discard the pin [10].
(g) Remove the pins [10], nuts [9], washers [8], washers [7] and bolts [26] to remove the
balance panel assembly [22], balance panel assembly [23], balance panel assembly [24] or
balance panel assembly [25] from the wing structure. Discard the pin [10].
