3. Flight Controls Shutoff Valve Installation

A. General
(1) This task is the installation of the flight controls shutoff valve assembly, which contains the motor
and the valve.

SUBTASK 27-09-31-420-001
(1) If they are not installed, install the packings [12], backup rings [11], packings [10] and backup
rings [9]:
(a) Apply MCS 352B fluid, D00054 (preferred) or fluid, D00153 (alternative) to the packings [12],
backup rings [11], packings [10] and backup rings [9].
(b) Install the packings [12], backup rings [11], packings [10] and backup rings [9] on the valve
[8].

(2) Install the valve [8]:
(a) Carefully install the valve [8] in the hydraulic module housing [5].
(b) Install the bolts [2] and washers [3] to attach the valve [8] to the hydraulic module housing
[5].
(c) Tighten the bolts [2] to 30-40 pound-inches (3.4-4.5 newton-meters).
(d) Install the lockwire, G01912 on the four bolts [2].
(e) Before you connect the electrical connector [1], examine the connector for corrosion.
WARNING: DO THE STEPS BELOW IF THE AIRPLANE OPERATES AT AIRPORTS WHERE
DEICING FLUID THAT CONTAIN POTASSIUM FORMATE IS USED. ALSO DO THE
STEPS FOR ALL AIRPLANES THAT YOU FOUND CORROSION IN THE
ELECTRICAL CONNECTORS IN THE MAIN WHEEL WELL. THE ELECTRICAL
CONNECTOR IS PART OF A SYSTEM THAT IS NECESSARY FOR SAFE FLIGHT.
(f) If there was corrosion, refer to (SWPM 20-60-03) to correct the problem.
(g) Apply the D5026NS or ZC-026 compound, G50171 to the connector (SWPM 20-60-03).
(h) Connect the electrical connector [1] to the valve motor [6].
G. Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition

Remove the safety tag and close this circuit breaker:
