C. Prepare for the Test

(1) Do this task: Supply Electrical Power, TASK 24-22-00-860-811.

WARNING: MAKE SURE ALL PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF THE FLIGHT CONTROL
SURFACES, THE THRUST REVERSERS, AND THE LANDING GEAR. THE CONTROL
SURFACES, THE THRUST REVERSERS, AND THE LANDING GEAR CAN MOVE
SUDDENLY WITH THE PRESSURIZATION OF A HYDRAULIC SYSTEM. THIS CAN
CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(2) Pressurize hydraulic systems A and B, do this task: Hydraulic System A or B Pressurization,
TASK 29-11-00-860-801.

(3) Install the mount, SPL-1670 and the control column assembly protractor, SPL-1680 to the
captain’s aileron control wheel.
D. Aileron Travel Test
SUBTASK 27-11-00-730-004
(1) Do a test of the aileron travel:
(a) Operate the captain’s aileron control wheel through at least 6 full cycles then return the
wheel to neutral position.
(b) Turn the captain’s aileron control wheel more than 87 degrees counterclockwise from the
neutral position and hold.
(c) Measure and record the distance between the outboard lower trailing edge of the aileron
and the lower trailing edge of the adjacent fixed trailing structure for both the left and right
ailerons.

1) Make sure the left aileron moves up 4.59 ±0.20 inch (116.6 ±5.1 millimeters).
2) Make sure the right aileron moves down 3.87 ±0.20 inch (98.3 ±5.1 millimeters).

3) Make sure the left aileron moves up 4.83 ±0.20 inch (122.7 ±5.1 millimeters).
4) Make sure the right aileron moves down 3.63 ±0.20 inch (92.2 ±5.1 millimeters).

5) Make sure the aileron balance tab moves in the opposite direction to the aileron.

power control unit (PCU).
