(c) Remove the straightedge, SPL-1671 from the control wheels.
(d) Operate the captain’s control wheel for 20 times.
1) Do not turn the control wheel more than 100 degrees from the neutral position.
(e) Reduce the tension in the cables to get the specified cable rigging load for cables ACBA
and ACBB (Table 501).
(f) Operate the captain’s control wheel two to three times.

(g) Put the captain’s control wheel back to the neutral position.
1) Move the control wheel quickly back and forth about neutral to make sure it is in the
center position.

(5) If the cables ACBA and ACBB are not new, do these steps to adjust the cables:
(a) Remove the straightedge, SPL-1671 from the control wheels.
(b) Adjust the cables until you can easily install and remove rig pin A/S-1A, from the rig pin kit,
SPL-1585, in the aileron transfer mechanism (Figure 501).
(c) Tighten the turnbuckles on the cables until you get the correct tension for cables ACBA and
ACBB (Table 501).
(d) Operate the captain’s control wheel two to three times.
(e) Put the captain’s control wheel back to the neutral position.
1) Move the control wheel quickly back and forth about neutral to make sure it is in the
center position.

(6) Make sure you can easily install and remove the rig pins A/S-1 and A/S-1A, from the rig pin kit,
SPL-1585, in the transfer mechanism (Figure 501).
(a) To adjust the cables for rig pin fit, loosen one cable and tighten the other cable the same
amount.

(7) Attach the straightedge, SPL-1671 on the captain’s and first officer’s control wheels.
