SUBTASK 27-00-00-960-003
(1) Replace the rudder trim indicator.
These are the tasks:
Rudder Trim Indicator Removal, TASK 27-11-94-000-803,
Rudder Trim Indicator Installation, TASK 27-11-94-400-803.

(2) If the rudder trim indicator was not the problem, then do these steps to correct the fault:
(a) Find the fault code or description of the fault that occurred.
(b) If you find a fault code, then do these steps:
1) Go to the Fault Code Index in the applicable chapter of the FIM and find the fault code.
NOTE: The first two digits of the fault code is the FIM chapter.
2) Find the task number on the same line as the fault code.
3) Go to the task in the FIM and do the steps in the task.

(c) If you find a description of the fault, then do these steps:
1) Go to the Observed Fault List at the beginning of the FIM and find the best description
for the fault.
2) Find the task number on the same line as the fault description.
3) Go to the task in the FIM and do the steps in the task.

WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF ALL CONTROL
SURFACES BEFORE YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. AILERONS, RUDDERS,
ELEVATORS, FLAPS, SLATS, SPOILERS, LANDING GEAR, AND THRUST REVERSERS
CAN MOVE QUICKLY WHEN YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN CAUSE
INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Pressurize the speed brake hydraulic systems A and B. To pressurize them, do this task: Speed
Brake Hydraulic Systems A and B Pressurization, TASK 27-62-00-800-801.

(2) Do a test of the Speedbrake actuator:
(a) Put the Speedbrake handle in the DOWN position.
NOTE: The spoilers will move down during this step.
(b) Make sure the flight and ground spoilers are all down.
(c) Put the Speedbrake handle in the FLIGHT DETENT.
NOTE: The spoilers will move up during this step.
(d) Make sure the flight and ground spoilers deploy.

(e) Put the Speedbrake handle in the DOWN position.
NOTE: The spoilers will move down during this step.
(f) Make sure the flight and ground spoilers are all down.
WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT YOU OPEN THE CIRCUIT BREAKER FOR THE WEATHER
RADAR SYSTEM. THE FORWARD MOVEMENT OF A THRUST LEVER CAN CAUSE
THE AUTOMATIC OPERATION OF THE SYSTEM. THE OPERATION OF THIS
SYSTEM CAN CAUSE SERIOUS INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO
EQUIPMENT IN THE AREA OF THE NOSE RADOME.
(g) Open this circuit breaker and install safety tag:

(h) Move both thrust levers beyond 60 degrees.
(i) Make sure the Takeoff Configuration Warning Horn does not sound.
(j) Move the thrust levers to idle.
