WITHOUT THE DOWNLOCK PINS, THE LANDING GEARS COULD RETRACT AND
CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(1) Do this task: Remove Pressure from the Aileron Hydraulic Systems A and B,
TASK 27-11-00-860-801.

(2) Do this task: Remove Electrical Power, TASK 24-22-00-860-812.

(3) Make sure the aileron control wheels [3] are in the neutral position.

(5) Install the rig pin A/S-1 and A/S-1A, from the rig pin kit, SPL-1585, in the transfer mechanism

(6) Install the rig pin A/S-15, from the rig pin kit, SPL-1585, in the aileron feel and centering unit
(Figure 401).
F. Aileron Control Wheel Removal
SUBTASK 27-11-41-020-001
(1) Remove the aileron control wheel [3] (Figure 402):
(a) Remove the screws [5] that attach the medallion [6] to the aileron control wheel [3].
(b) Remove the medallion [6] from the aileron control wheel [3].
(c) Remove the pin [10], nut [4], washer [8], washer [7], spacer [9] and bolt [11]. Discard the
pin [10].
(d) Remove the screws [12], and washers [13] to remove the terminal cover [16].
(e) Remove the screws [19], washers [18] and washers [20] to disconnect the wires from the
terminal block [17].
(f) Write down and make a mark of the configuration of the identified color wires.
(g) Remove the terminal block [17] from the hub of the wheel.
(h) Carefully remove the aileron control wheel [3] from the control column.
(i) Make a mark of the positions of the aileron control wheel [3] and the gear and sleeve
assembly [1].
(j) Make a mark on the wire bundle to identify the clamp [15] location in the control wheel hub.
(k) Remove the screw [14] to remove the clamp [15] from the aileron control wheel [3].
(l) Carefully disengage the wire bundle from the aileron control wheel [3].
