CAUTION:_______ IN CASE THE DOOR DOES NOT OPEN, STOP IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT
OPERATE THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH. HOLDING THE DOOR CONTROL
SWITCH MAY DAMAGE THE ACTUATOR. WAIT AT LEAST 1 MINUTE BEFORE
SECOND ATTEMPT. IF THE DOOR STILL DOES NOT OPEN, WAIT AT LEAST
10 MINUTES BEFORE THIRD ATTEMPT.

Examine the movement of the hooks from the cargo compartment. S 214-018

Make sure the hook pins move freely from the hook lips without unwanted interference.

LATCH ALIGNMENT STRIPES AND ARROWS - MAINTENANCE PRACTICES

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains the tasks that follow:
(1)
The removal of the latch alignment stripes and arrows.
(2)
The installation of the latch alignment stripes and arrows.
(3)
Paint the latch alignment stripes and arrows.
(4)
Clean or replace the view port windows.
(5)
Inspect the forward/aft cargo door alignment marks.
B.
A visual inspection of the latch alignment marks (stripes and arrows) is necessary when the door is in the closed position. The marks are aligned when the door is in the closed position. You must clearly see the latch alignment marks through the view port windows.

Procedure
S 862-002
(1)
Open the cargo door electrically to the vertical position (Ref 52-34-00/001).
S 862-003
(2)
Turn the latch cams to the closed position as follows:
(a)
Manually turn the hooks to the hook closed position approximately 15 turns or until the hook position switch starts.
(b)
Hold the door control switch in the closed position approximately 3 seconds until the hooks turn to the full closed position.
