 3.  Drill Rigging Pin Holes for the Hooks_____________________________________
 A. General
 (1)  
If the hook support fittings are new, they may not have holes for the rigging pins. Use this task to drill these holes in the hook support fittings. It is not necessary to remove the fittings to drill these holes.

 CAUTION:_______IN CASE THE DOOR DOES NOT OPEN, STOP IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT OPERATE THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH. HOLDING THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH MAY DAMAGE THE ACTUATOR. WAIT AT LEAST 1 MINUTE BEFORE SECOND ATTEMPT. IF THE DOOR STILL DOES NOT OPEN, WAIT AT LEAST 10 MINUTES BEFORE THIRD ATTEMPT.
 (1)  
Open the door to get access to the hook mechanism.

Open circuit breakers as follows for the applicable cargo door.

 (a)  
P59 Aft Equipment Panel
 1) AFT CARGO DOOR POWER UNITS


 (b)  
P414 Power Distribution Center - Left 1) 414A21 LOWER CARGO DOOR FWD 2) 414F15 CARGO DOOR CONTROL FWD 3) 414F16 CARGO DOOR CONTROL CONTROL AFT

Remove the lower door lining.

Put the hooks in the correct position to drill the rigging pin hole (Ref 52-34-00/001).

 (a)  
Disconnect the hook pushrods from the hook bellcranks.

 (b)  
Manually turn the lift actuator clockwise until the hooks almost engage the pins.

 (c)  
Do a check to make sure both hooks will engage the pins at approximately the same time. 1) Measure the clearance from each hook to its pin. 2) Compare the clearances. 3) Make sure the difference between the clearances is less

 than 0.25 inch. 4) Move the hook pins if it is necessary to change the clearance.

 (d)  
Push the door inboard to engage the latches.

 (e)  
Manually turn the latch actuator clockwise to latch the door.

 (f)  
Manually turn the hook actuator to the rigged closed position.


 NOTE:____The hooks are not connected to the actuator. When you move the actuator the hooks will not move.
 1) Use a torque wrench to turn the hook actuator clockwise. 2) Monitor the torque you use to turn the actuator. 3) Turn the actuator until the torque increases by
 approximately 15 pound-inches. 4) Turn the actuator two turns counterclockwise.
 NOTE: This is the rigged closed position.

 (g)  
Connect the hook push rods to the hook bellcranks.

 (h)  
Manually open the door.

 (i)  
Manually turn the hook actuator to the rigged closed position. 1) Use a torque wrench to turn the hook actuator clockwise. 2) Monitor the torque you use to turn the actuator. 3) Turn the actuator until the torque increases by


 approximately 15 pound-inches. 4) Turn the actuator two turns counterclockwise.
 NOTE: This is the rigged closed position.

 (5)  
Drill a rigging pin hole in the hook support fitting.

 (a)  
Drill a hole with a diameter between 0.190 and 0.194 inch through the hook support fitting in the correct location.
