 3)  Remove the two LCD-1(7) rig pins.
 (e) Adjust the hook rigged-open position:
 CAUTION: USE A TORQUE WRENCH WITH A DIAL INDICATOR TO FIND
_______ WHEN THE INTERNAL STOPS TOUCH EACH OTHER (FIG. 506). DO NOT TURN THE TORQUE WRENCH WHEN THE TORQUE INCREASES 10-20 POUND-INCHES. TOO MUCH TORQUE CAN DAMAGE THE ACTUATOR.
 1)  Put the hook actuator in the rigged-closed position as follows: a) Turn the hook actuator clockwise with a torque wrench
 to find when the internal stops touch each other (Fig. 502). b) Then, turn the hook actuator in the other direction the number of turns shown (Fig. 506). 2) Remove the hook open stop bolts (View A-A, Fig. 502).
 CAUTION:_______USE A TORQUE WRENCH WITH A DIAL INDICATOR. DO NOT TURN THE TORQUE WRENCH IF THE TORQUE INCREASES 10-20 POUND-INCHES. TOO MUCH TORQUE CAN DAMAGE THE ACTUATOR.
 3)  Turn the hook actuator 112 turns (110-112 aft cargo door) counterclockwise to the hook open position.
 4)  Measure the clearance between the surface of the hook and the surface of the ramp fitting is as shown (View A, Fig. 502):
 NOTE: The location on the ramp fitting you must measure
____ from is at the hole for the hook open stop bolt.
 a)  Add washers until the clearance between the hook and the stop bolt, when installed, is correct (View A, Fig. 502).
 b)  For the aft door only, after you turn the hook actuator 112 turns it can be possible for the forward or aft hooks or the two hooks to touch the surface of the centering ramp. If this occurs, turn the hook actuator clockwise until the hook is clear of the ramp (2 turns maximum).

Adjust the door guide rollers (View B, Fig. 502).

 (a)
Turn the manual drive for the lift actuator to move the door until the thickest part of the ramp is above the roller.

 (b)
Make sure the clearance from the ramp to the roller is correct:


 1)  If the airplane is on jacks (alternative method), the correct distance is 0.04 +/- 0.01 inch on the two doors.

 2)  If the airplane is not on jacks (preferred method), the correct distance is as follows: a) CLEARANCE 0.04 +/- 0.01 inch at both rollers on the
 forward door
 b)  CLEARANCE 0.15 +/- 0.01 inch at the aft roller on the aft cargo door
 c)  OVERLAP 0.07 +/- 0.01 inch at the forward roller of the aft door.
 (c)  If the clearance is not correct, do these steps: 1) Remove the roller fitting. 2) Change the thickness of the shim below the roller fitting. 3) Install the roller fitting.

 (6)  
Adjust the door flushness as follows:

 (a)  
Make sure the airplane is on its gear and its operating weight is zero.

 (b)  
Make sure the pull-in hooks are correctly adjusted in the rigged-closed position:


 NOTE: Refer to the "Adjust the hook rigged-closed position"
____
 paragraph.

 (c) Manually turn the door closed with the hook actuator only.
 NOTE: Do not turn the latch actuator to latch the door.
____
 (d)  
Set the pull-in hook actuator in the rigged-closed position with the torque wrench.

 (e)  
Make sure the door skin (at the hook pin level) is smooth with the body skin as shown (Fig. 507), if not adjust it as follows: 1) Use the edge of a ruler or straight edge against the


 surface of the door or fuselage skin to see if the pull-in hook fitting has to move inboard or outboard.
 NOTE: If the door skin is outboard of the fuselage skin,
____ the hook pin must be moved inboard to pull the door flush. Moving the plates one serration is equal to
 0.036 in.
 2)  Mark the present location of the outer bearing housing serrated plate using a marker pen or spray paint and then slacken the nuts and bolts holding the inner and outer bearing housings until they are able to freely move on the frame mounted serrated plates .
