 (g)  Put the hook actuator in the rigged-closed position as follows: 1) Turn the hook actuator clockwise with a torque wrench to find when the internal stops touch each other (Fig. 506).
 2)  Then, turn the hook actuator in the other direction the number of turns shown (Fig. 506).
 CAUTION:_______USE A TORQUE WRENCH WITH A DIAL INDICATOR. DO NOT TURN THE TORQUE WRENCH IF THE TORQUE INCREASES 10-20 POUND-INCHES. TOO MUCH TORQUE CAN DAMAGE THE ACTUATOR.
 (h)  Manually open the hooks to the rigged-open position. Count each turn of the wrench.
 NOTE: There are 112 turns permitted (110-112 turns permitted

 for the aft cargo door).

 (i)  Make sure the clearance between the hooks and the hook open external stops is correct (View A, Fig.502).
 NOTE:____ If the clearance is not correct, refer to the "Adjust door hook mechanism" step.
 (j) (k)  Manually turn the crank hooks in the open direction until one or the two hooks touch their external stops.Adjust the hook position (Fig. 505):
 NOTE:____ Adjust the hook until the switch operates halfway up the switch actuator ramp.
 1) 2)  Turn the speed wrench 8-1/2 turns (clockwise) in the closing direction.Adjust the switch and/or the switch bracket until the switch operates (listen for audible click).
 NOTE:____ You can do a check electrically if you do a check for continuity between pins 7 and 11 of plug P3 on the cargo door junction box when the switch operated. Turn the actuator in the open direction when you do this check.
 Do not apply more faying surface sealant to the serrated plate until the hook pin-exit clearance is correct.
 (l)  Open the door slowly and make sure the hook pin goes out of the hook slot smoothly. If the hook pin does not come out of the hook slot smoothly, adjust the switch to operate at another hook actuator setting +/- 5 turns of the original setting.
 NOTE:____ This is refered to as the hook pin-exit check.

 (m)  Apply the fayed surface sealant to the serrated plate:
 1)  Make a mark at the location of the mounting bracket on the door.
 NOTE: The mark will help make the installation easier.

 2) Remove the mount bracket. 3) Remove all the used sealant and apply new faying surface seal between the serrated plate and the mount bracket.
 NOTE: Refer to the "Apply new faying surface sealant"
____
 paragraph.

 4)  Install the switch mounting bracket.
 (n)  Do the switch operation and hook pin-exit check given above again.

 (20) Adjust the door up switch (Fig. 505):
 CAUTION:_______IN CASE THE DOOR DOES NOT OPEN, STOP IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT OPERATE THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH. HOLDING THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH MAY DAMAGE THE ACTUATOR. WAIT AT LEAST 1 MINUTE BEFORE SECOND ATTEMPT. IF THE DOOR STILL DOES NOT OPEN, WAIT AT LEAST 10 MINUTES BEFORE THIRD ATTEMPT.
 (a)  Open the door to the fully up position (one of the lift actuator arms will lightly touch its mechanical stop on the rotary actuator).
 NOTE: The door will not close manually if it hits the upstop
____ heavily. If this occurs, do one of these steps:
 -If it is possible, use electrical power to close the door
 -Manually, lightly lift up on the bottom edge of the door. At the same time, turn the manual drive counterclockwise to close the door.
