(bf) Make sure the green LATCHES CLOSED light on the external door
control panel is on. (bg) Move the door handle to the closed position. (bh) Make sure the green LATCHES CLOSED light on the external door
control panel is off. (bi) Make sure the applicable message is not shown on the EICAS display:

DOOR FWD CARGO
-
DOOR AFT CARGO.
(bj) When the door is closed, make sure the alignment marks in the view ports are correctly aligned.
NOTE: This shows that the latches are engaged.

(bk) Make sure the master caution lights on the flight deck glareshield are not on, and that no aural warning tone sounds. (bl) Make sure the clearances at the external stops of the forward and aft lift actuators are 0.01 inch minimum.
(bm) Hold the door links with your hands and try to turn each link around its bearings. Make sure that you can turn the two links.
NOTE: If you can not turn the links, the door is not rigged

correctly.
(bn) Move the door control switch in the OPEN and CLOSE position to make sure the motor does not try to operate.
(bo) Make sure the clearance between the forward and aft midspan latches and pins is correct as follows: 1) 0.005 to 0.045 inch at the inboard side of the pins. 2) 0.20 to 0.24 inch at the bottom of the pins.
(bp) Move the door handle to the open position.
CAUTION:_______IN CASE THE DOOR DOES NOT OPEN, STOP IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT OPERATE THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH. HOLDING THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH MAY DAMAGE THE ACTUATOR. WAIT AT LEAST 1 MINUTE BEFORE SECOND ATTEMPT. IF THE DOOR STILL DOES NOT OPEN, WAIT AT LEAST 10 MINUTES BEFORE THIRD ATTEMPT.
(bq) Operate the door electrically to open the door until just beyond the position where the hook will touch the pin.

(br) Measure the outboard pin-hook clearance at the forward and aft hook of each door. Make sure the two dimensions are not more than 0.25 inch different from each other.
(bs) Push one of the pressure relief doors in the closed direction until you feel resistance (all slack removed). Hold it in this position and fully close and latch the door electrically.
(bt) Make sure the hook and latch actuator operation does not stop and start during the close cycle.
NOTE: Intermittent or no operation shows that the master latch
____ lock switch or the master latch lock linkage are not correctly adjusted.
CAUTION: YOU MUST PERMIT A ONE MINUTE TIME DELAY AFTER YOU OPEN OR
_______ CLOSE THE DOOR TO LET THE MOTOR TO COOL. DAMAGE TO THE MOTOR CAN OCCUR IF NO TIME DELAY IS PERMITTED.
CAUTION:_______IN CASE THE DOOR DOES NOT OPEN, STOP IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT OPERATE THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH. HOLDING THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH MAY DAMAGE THE ACTUATOR. WAIT AT LEAST 1 MINUTE BEFORE SECOND ATTEMPT. IF THE DOOR STILL DOES NOT OPEN, WAIT AT LEAST 10 MINUTES BEFORE THIRD ATTEMPT.
(bu) Operate the door with the inside control switch until it is open approximately 18 to 14 inches.
(bv) Turn the manual drive port of the latch actuator in the open direction (counterclockwise) and do these steps: 1) Make sure there are 5 to 7 free turns from the point where
the manual mechanism touches the internal stops. 2) Make sure the maximum torque necessary to turn the manual mechanism is not more than 20 inch-pounds. (bw) Do these steps with the hook actuator: 1) Make sure the hook has not contacted the external stops.
