Do a test of the manual operation of the lift actuator.
(a) Manually turn the lift actuator 50 turns clockwise.
(b) Make sure the two rotary actuators start to move at the same
time to open the door.
(c) Manually turn the lift actuator 50 turns counterclockwise.
(d) Make sure the two rotary actuators move to close the door at
the same time.
(e) Open the door manually until one rotary actuator touches its
upstop.
NOTE: You can not always close the door if the rotary____
actuator hits the upstop heavily. If this occurs, do
one of these steps:
- If possible, use electrical power to close the
door or,
- Manually, lightly lift up on the bottom edge of
the door. At the same time, turn the manual
drive counterclockwise to close the door.
(f) Move the door until there is a clearance between the rotary
actuator and the upstop of 0.10 to 0.13 inch.
NOTE: Measure this clearance on the same rotary actuator____
that touched its upstop.
(g) Make sure the clearance between the other rotary actuator and
its upstop is from 0.10 to 0.20 inch.

MAINTENANCE MANUAL
CAUTION:_______IN CASE THE DOOR DOES NOT OPEN, STOP IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT OPERATE THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH. HOLDING THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH MAY DAMAGE THE ACTUATOR. WAIT AT LEAST 1 MINUTE BEFORE SECOND ATTEMPT. IF THE DOOR STILL DOES NOT OPEN, WAIT AT LEAST 10 MINUTES BEFORE THIRD ATTEMPT.
(a)
Operate the door electrically to its full open position.
(b)
Make sure the clearance between one rotary actuator and its upstop is from 0.10 to 0.13 inch (Fig. 401).
(c)
Make sure the clearance between the other rotary actuator and its upstop is from 0.10 to 0.20 inch.
(d)
Make sure you cannot turn the lift links around their axes with your hand .
CAUTION: DO NOT OPERATE THE LIFT ACTUATOR FOR AT LEAST 1 MINUTE
_______ AFTER YOU OPEN THE DOOR. OPEN AND CLOSE THE DOOR ONLY ONCE IN TEN MINUTES. THIS WILL PREVENT TOO MUCH HEAT THAT CAN DAMAGE THE LIFT ACTUATOR.
(e)
Close the cargo door.
(f)
Make sure there is a 0.01 inch minimum clearance between the rotary actuator and its downstop (Fig. 401).
(g)
Make sure you can turn the lift actuators around their axes with your hand.
