Adjust the trigger (Detail C).
(a)
Make sure the outside contour of the trigger aligns with the outside contour of the handle within 0.03 inch.
NOTE: This is the aerodynamic flushness tolerance.

(b) Add or remove washers between the lock pin and the handle if it is necessary to set this dimension.

Adjust the handle stop.
(a)
Make sure the distance between the pressure relief door and the cargo door shown is as shown in section A-A.
(b)
Make sure there is 0.06 inch between the lock sector and the latch cam (Detail D).
(c)
Change the rubber washers in the handle stop if it is necessary to get the dimensions above.
(d)
Tighten the nut only until there is no play in the stack of washers.
(e)
See that when the handle is open the lock sectors retract inside the bottom beam of the door.

(4)
Adjust the lock pin (Detail C).
(a)
Put marking ink on the end of the lock pin.
(b)
Operate the handle.
(c)
Look at the lock pin to know the dimension of the overlap between the lock pin and the housing (Detail C).
(d)
Change the washers between the housing and the door if it is necessary to set this dimension.

Do a test of the force that is necessary to close the handle.
(a)
Use a spring scale to push the handle to the closed position.
NOTE: Put the spring scale approximately 1.0 inch from the

top of the handle.
(b) Make sure the force is between 25 and 45 pounds.

Do a test of the door warning switch.
(a)
Open the handle.
(b)
Make sure the EICAS message FWD CARGO DOOR or AFT CARGO DOOR shows for the applicable door.
(c)
Close the handle.
(d)
Make sure the EICAS message FWD CARGO DOOR or AFT CARGO DOOR does not show for the applicable door.

5. Repairs - Master Latch Lock Handle (Fig. 201)

A. General
(1)
This task is a repair of the master latch lock handle. The repair replaces the rivet through the driver and the handle.
(2)
This task refers to the master latch lock handle as "the handle".

Close the door electrically (Ref 52-34-00/001).

Make sure the latch cams are fully engaged.

Lift the handle approximately 30 degrees to get access to the rivet.
(4)
Remove the parts of the rivet from the handle and the driver.

Make sure the holes through the handle and the driver are clean and have no burrs.
