Remove the lower door lining (1).

Disconnect the electrical cable (2) at connector P2 from the latch actuator (16).

Disconnect and remove the adjacent latch mechanism parts to permit the removal of the latch actuator (16) as follows (Fig. 401):
(a)
Disconnect the pushrod (14) from the bellcrank (7).
(b)
Remove clamps (8)(9) that hold the bellcrank (7), torque tube (13), and double-throw bellcrank (10).
(c)
Pull clamps (8)(9) from the torque tube (13).
(d)
Remove the torque tube.
CAUTION:_______BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU REMOVE THE BELLCRANK (7). THE SPLINED TEETH OF THE BELLCRANK CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE FACE OF THE BEARING (15), IF YOU ARE NOT CAREFUL.
(e)
Remove the clamp (6) that holds the bellcrank (7) and adapter (5).
(f)
Pull the bellcrank in the aft direction to permit clearance for the adapter.
(g)
Remove the adapter (5) from the latch actuator (16).

Remove the four bolts (21)(View A-A, Fig. 401) that hold the latch actuator (16) to the support bracket (17).

Pull the latch actuator in the aft direction until it is clear of the bellcrank (4).
NOTE: Make sure you do not move the shims.
