Procedure
S 016-023
(1) Remove the cieling panel inboard of the door hinge.

CAUTION:_______IN CASE THE DOOR DOES NOT OPEN, STOP IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT OPERATE THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH. HOLDING THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH MAY DAMAGE THE ACTUATOR. WAIT AT LEAST 1 MINUTE BEFORE SECOND ATTEMPT. IF THE SOOR STILL DOES NOT OPEN, WAIT AT LEAST 10 MINUTES BEFORE THIRD ATTEMPT.

Open the door.

Examine the condition of the lift mechanism as follows:
(a)
Examine the condition of the lift power unit as follows: 1) Look for corrosion.

2) Look for damage.
3) Look for loose or missing fasteners.
4) Make sure the electrical connectors and associated wiring
is satisfactory as follows: a) Look for chafe. b) Look for loose wires.
(b)
Examine the condition of the torque tubes as follows: 1) Look for corrosion. 2) Look for loose or missing fasteners. 3) Look for damage.
(c)
Examine the condition of the rotary actuators as follows: 1) Look for corrosion on the rotary actuators and at all the places where the rotary actuators attach to the structure. 2) Look for damage on the rotary actuators and at all the places where the rotary actuators attach to the structure. 3) Make sure the rotary actuators are attached securely to the
airplane structure. 4) Make sure there is a clearance at the upstops.
(d)
Examine the condition of the lift links as follows: 1) Look for corrosion on the lift links and at all the places where the lift links attach to the structure.
2) Look for damage on the lift links and at all the places where the lift links attach to the structure.

Close the door.

(5)
With the door in the closed position, make sure you can turn the lift links by hand.
(6)
Install the access panel inboard of the door hinge.

5. Cargo Door Wear Limits (Fig. 601)

A. General
(1) Wear on the inner surface of the shroud may occur if the pressure relief door stop fittings or stop bolts contact the shrouds. This condition is acceptable. It will not affect the pressure relief door operation or function of the shroud.

LIFT ACTUATOR - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

A. This procedure contains these tasks:
(1)
The removal of the lift actuator
(2)
The installation of the lift actuator.
(3)
operational check of the lift mechanism of the forward/aft cargo door to verify manual drive.
B.
The task to do an operational check of the lift mechanism for the forward/aft cargo door to verify manual drive is included in the tasks to remove and install the lift actuator. Thus, if you do the task to remove the lift actuator and the task to install the lift actuator, then it is not necessary to do the task to do an operational check of the lift mechanism for the forward/aft cargo door toverify manual drive.
