Examine all the door seals for damage or deterioration.

Cargo Door - Installation
S 424-020
(1) Install the cargo door on its hinges as follows:
NOTE: You can install the cargo door on its hinges with the

airplane on its gear.
(a)
Install the cargo door sling.
(b)
Put the door in a position to align the door hinge segments with the fuselage hinge segments (Fig. 404).
(c)
Remove the safety barrier for the cargo door.

(d) Install the hinge pins as follows (Fig. 401, Fig. 402):
1) On the forward cargo door, use a punch (drift) to install the 16.75-inch end hinge pin (19) in the forward end-hinge-sections and the 14.29-inch end hinge pin (16) in the aft end-hinge-sections.
2) On the aft cargo door, use a punch (drift) to install the 16.75-inch end hinge pin (16) in aft end-hinge-sections and the 14.29-inch end hinge pin (19) in the forward end-hinge-sections.
3) Use a punch (drift) to install the two 9.06-inch length center hinge pins.
NOTE: On the forward cargo door, use the punch to move
____ the hinge pin (18) in the forward direction.
On the aft cargo door, use the punch to move the hinge pin (17) in the aft direction.
4) Use a punch (drift) to install the four 8.06-inch length center hinge pins.
NOTE: On the forward cargo door, use a punch to move
____ the hinge pins (17) in the aft direction.
On the aft cargo door, use a punch to move the hinge pins (18) in the forward direction.
5) Put the two hinge sections in their position with the hinge
pins installed. 6) Align the fastener holes and install the fasteners. 7) Tighten the nuts 60 to 90 pound-inches.
(e) Remove the cargo door sling and let the door hang in the vertical position.

(2) Connect the lift actuator mechanism to the door as follows:
NOTE: The door is in the free-hang position.

(a) Attach the lift links to the rotary actuator arms.
NOTE: Each lift link should initially be from 14.02 to 14.06
____ inches long. This dimension is between the centers of the rod ends.
(b)
Manually turn the lift actuator to move the actuator arms until you can attach one of the lift links to the door fittings. Do not change the length of the lift links.
(c)
Attach the second lift link to the door fitting. It is acceptable to change the length of this lift link until the link attach bolt installs freely.

Tighten the bolts from 630 to 1070 pound-inches.
(e)
Attach the swivel clamp (8) on the door support fitting (9) (Fig. 403).
