FORWARD/AFT CARGO DOOR - ADJUSTMENT/TEST

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains three tasks:
(1)
The first task is an operational test of the cargo door operating mechanism.
(2)
The second task is the adjustment of the cargo door.
(3)
The third task is a system test of the cargo door operating mechanism.

2. Operational Test - Cargo Door Operating Mechanism_________________________________________________
A. General
(1) This is a check of the cargo door operation for:
-smooth action
-
correct engagement of the hook and latch pins
-
correct electrical sequence of the mechanisms.
(2)
You can do the test with the airplane on its gear, and at an operating weight of zero.
(3)
For a fast check to find an unserviceable condition of the forward or aft cargo door systems refer to 52-34-00/601.

Do the cargo door operational test as follows:
(a)
Release and open the master latch lock handle on the external side of the cargo door: 1) Make sure the applicable warning message shows on the EICAS
display:
DOOR FWD CARGO
DOOR AFT CARGO.
2) Make sure the pressure relief doors open. 3) Make sure the linkage operates easily.
(b)
Make sure the green LATCHES CLOSED light on the external door control panel comes on.
CAUTION:_______IN CASE THE DOOR DOES NOT OPEN, STOP IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT OPERATE THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH. HOLDING THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH MAY DAMAGE THE ACTUATOR. WAIT AT LEAST 1 MINUTE BEFORE SECOND ATTEMPT. IF THE DOOR STILL DOES NOT OPEN, WAIT AT LEAST 10 MINUTES BEFORE THIRD ATTEMPT.
(c)
Put the internal or external door control switch in the OPEN position: 1) Make sure the door moves smoothly to the full open
position. 2) Make sure all the actuators follow the correct sequence.
(d)
Make sure the green LATCHES CLOSED light on the external door control panel goes off.
(e)
Put the internal or external door control switch in the CLOSE position: 1) Make sure the door moves smoothly to the closed and latched
position. 2) Make sure all the actuators follow the correct sequence. 3) Make sure the hooks and latch cams correctly engage with
the hook and latch pins in the doorway.
(f)
Make sure the green LATCHES CLOSED light on the external door control panel comes on.
(g)
Lift and stow the master latch lock handle: 1) Make sure the linkage operates easily. 2) Make sure these messages are not shown on the EICAS
