You do not have to remove the cargo door to remove the lift actuator.

Before you remove the lift actuator, the airplane must be in one of these configurations:
(1)
The airplane is on its wheels and at its Operating Empty Weight
(2)
The airplane is on jacks
(3)
The airplane is on its wheels and has a fuel load.
NOTE: The fuel load must be approximately equal on each side
____ of the airplane. The maximum allowable difference is 5000 pounds between each side of the airplane.

CAUTION:_______IN CASE THE DOOR DOES NOT OPEN, STOP IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT OPERATE THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH. HOLDING THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH MAY DAMAGE THE ACTUATOR. WAIT AT LEAST 1 MINUTE BEFORE SECOND ATTEMPT. IF THE DOOR STILL DOES NOT OPEN, WAIT AT LEAST 10 MINUTES BEFORE THIRD ATTEMPT.

Open the door until it hangs vertically.
(a)
If you cannot operate the lift actuator electrically or manually, open the door as follows: 1) Open the master latch lock handle. 2) Disconnect the swivel clamp from the actuator arm
(Fig. 402). 3) For the forward actuator on the aft door, disconnect the two clamps from the bracket also (Fig. 402). 4) Disconnect the lift links from the support fittings.
NOTE: Do not change the length of the lift links.

WARNING: USE SUFFICIENT FORCE TO MAKE THE DOOR MOVE SLOWLY.
_______ WHEN YOU OPEN THE HOOKS AND LATCHES, THE DOOR CAN MOVE QUICKLY OUTBOARD. IF THE DOOR MOVES QUICKLY, IT CAN CAUSE INJURY OR DAMAGE.
CAUTION:_______ IN CASE THE DOOR DOES NOT OPEN, STOP IMMEDIATELY. DO
NOT OPERATE THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH. HOLDING THE
DOOR CONTROL SWITCH MAY DAMAGE THE ACTUATOR. WAIT AT

5) Put the control switch in the OPEN position.
