CAUTION: THE HANDLE MAY BE HARD TO CLOSE IF THE LATCH CAMS ARE
_______ NOT FULLY CLOSED. LOOK AT THE LATCH ALIGNMENT STRIPES TO MAKE SURE THE LATCH CAMS ARE FULLY CLOSED. DO NOT USE TOO MUCH FORCE TO CLOSE THE HANDLE. YOU CAN BREAK THE RIVET AGAIN IF YOU USE TOO MUCH FORCE TO CLOSE THE HANDLE.
(7) Close the handle.

(4) S 212-049Make sure the torque tubes, pushrods, and other components are correctly attached (AMM 52-34-00/501).
(5) S 212-050Do a check of the force needed to push the master latch lock handle to a closed position (AMM 52-34-00/601).
(6) S 412-036Close the handle.

HOOK RETURN SPRING - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

A. This procedure contains two tasks:
(1)
The first task is the removal of the hook return spring from the lower lobe cargo doors.
(2)
The second task is the installation of the hook return spring on the lower lobe cargo door.

A. General
(1)
The hook return springs are installed on the cargo door adjacent to the hook mechanism bellcranks. This procedure is for the forward lower lobe cargo door. The aft lower lobe cargo door is almost the same.

CAUTION:_______IN CASE THE DOOR DOES NOT OPEN, STOP IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT OPERATE THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH. HOLDING THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH MAY DAMAGE THE ACTUATOR. WAIT AT LEAST 1 MINUTE BEFORE SECOND ATTEMPT. IF THE DOOR STILL DOES NOT OPEN, WAIT AT LEAST 10 MINUTES BEFORE THIRD ATTEMPT.
