Remove the block between the restraint arm and the hook torque tube cam, if you installed a block.
(h)
Do a check of the restraint arm adjustment: 1) Do one of these steps: a) Use a power supply to apply 28 volts dc to pin 3 with pin 2 grounded to retract the solenoid electrically. b) Lift the restraint arm manually until the solenoid touches the bottom. 2) Make sure the restraint arm lifts up to clear the torque
tube cam by 0.90 to 1.00 inch (22.86 to 25.40 mm). 3) Release the restraint arm. 4) Remove 28 volts dc from pin 3 of the solenoid.
(i)
Do a check for correct operation of the manual release mechanism: 1) Fully depress the manual release plunger. 2) Turn the hook torque tube manually. 3) Make sure that the clearance between the restraint arm and
the torque tube cam lobe is a minimum of 0.05 inch (1.27 mm).

Manually turn the latch actuator in the release direction, then the same number of turns in the latching direction.
NOTE: Make sure the torque necessary to turn the actuator is
____
less than 25 pound-inches.

MAINTENANCE MANUAL
CAUTION:_______ IN CASE THE DOOR DOES NOT OPEN, STOP IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT
OPERATE THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH. HOLDING THE DOOR CONTROL
SWITCH MAY DAMAGE THE ACTUATOR. WAIT AT LEAST 1 MINUTE
BEFORE SECOND ATTEMPT. IF THE DOOR STILL DOES NOT OPEN,
WAIT AT LEAST 10 MINUTES BEFORE THIRD ATTEMPT.
(a)
Open the door for access to the master latch lock switch.
(b)
Make sure the manual handle for the master latch lock is fully open.
(c)
Move the pressure relief doors to the closed position until one lock segment touches a latch cam.
(d)
Turn the adjustment screw clockwise (toward the switch) until the switch actuates.
NOTE: Check for continuity between pins 1 and 4 of connector
____ P3 on the cargo door junction box.
(e) Pull the pressure relief doors fully open and make sure the switch actuator is not bottomed-out. 1) If the switch is bottomed-out, adjust the stop screw on the
manual handle (Fig. 501).
NOTE: This will decrease the pressure relief door's full
____ open position to limits shown to prevent switch bottoming (View B-B, Fig. 501).
2) Tighten the locknuts for the switch adjustment bolt.
S 825-015
(14) Adjust the latch closed switch (View I, Fig. 501):
CAUTION:_______IN CASE THE DOOR DOES NOT OPEN, STOP IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT OPERATE THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH. HOLDING THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH MAY DAMAGE THE ACTUATOR. WAIT AT LEAST 1 MINUTE BEFORE SECOND ATTEMPT. IF THE DOOR STILL DOES NOT OPEN, WAIT AT LEAST 10 MINUTES BEFORE THIRD ATTEMPT.
(a) Open the door to get access to the latch closed switch.
CAUTION: USE A TORQUE WRENCH WITH A DIAL INDICATOR TO FIND WHEN THE
_______ INTERNAL STOPS TOUCH EACH OTHER (FIG. 506). TOO MUCH TORQUE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE STOPS.
(b) Turn the latch actuator in the closed direction with a torque wrench to find when the internal stops touch each other (Fig. 506).
