 (12) Connect and install the adjacent latch mechanism parts as follows:
 CAUTION:_______BE CAREFUL WHEN YOU INSTALL THE BELLCRANK (7). THE SPLINE TEETH OF THE BELLCRANK CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE FACE OF THE BEARING (15), IF YOU ARE NOT CAREFUL.
 (a)  Put the adapter (5) in its position on the latch actuator (16).

MANUAL DRIVE TORQUE

M

TURNS OF MANUAL DRIVE TORQUE WRENCH

NOTE:  THE TURNS ARE THE NUMBER OF TURNS OF A TORQUE WRENCH IN THE MANUAL DRIVE. COUNT THE TURNS AFTER YOU FIND THE INTERNAL STOPS.

USE A TORQUE WRENCH TO FIND THE INTERNAL STOPS AS FOLLOWS:
1.  
MEASURE THE TORQUE (M) WHILE YOU MANUALLY TURN THE ACTUATOR.
(THE TORQUE SHOULD BE CONSTANT WITHIN |2 POUND-INCHES).


2.  
TURN THE ACTUATOR UNTIL THE TORQUE INCREASES BY 15-20 POUND-INCHES (M + 15).

3.  
TURN THE ACTUATOR 1/2-TURN IN THE OPPOSITE DIRECTION FROM THE (M + 15) POINT.

4.  
THE INTERNAL STOPS ARE AT THIS POINT.

 (b)  
Push the bellcrank (7) in the forward direction, through the bearing (15) to align it with the adapter (5).

 (c)  
Put the clamp (6) in its position on the adapter (5) and bellcrank (7).

 (d)  
Install the two bolts, nuts and washer (24, 25, 30 and 31).

 (e)  
Put clamps (8)(9) in their position on the bellcrank (7), torque tube (13), and double-throw bellcrank (10).

 (f)  
Install the two bolts, nuts and washer at each clamp.

 (g)  
Connect the pushrod (14) to the bellcrank (7).

 Adjust the latch mechanism (Ref 52-34-00/501).

 Manually turn the latch actuator to the fully open position.

 Connect the electrical connector (2) at connector P2 to the latch actuator (16).

 Install the lower door lining.

 Remove the DO-NOT-CLOSE tags and close these circuit breakers for the applicable cargo door:

P59 Aft Equipment Panel
 1) AFT CARGO DOOR POWER UNITS

P414 Power Distribution Center - Left
 1) 414A21 LOWER CARGO DOOR FWD
 2) 414F15 CARGO DOOR CONTROL FWD
 3) 414F16 CARGO DOOR CONTROL AFT

 Close the cargo door.
