(f)
Make sure the clamps (8) on the door support fitting (9) and the rotary actuator arm (3) are free to turn (Fig. 403).

Examine the door up switch.
S 824-048
(4)
If adjustment of the of the door up switch is necessary, do these steps:
CAUTION:_______IN CASE THE DOOR DOES NOT OPEN, STOP IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT OPERATE THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH. HOLDING THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH MAY DAMAGE THE ACTUATOR. WAIT AT LEAST 1 MINUTE BEFORE SECOND ATTEMPT. IF THE DOOR STILL DOES NOT OPEN, WAIT AT LEAST 10 MINUTES BEFORE THIRD ATTEMPT.
(a) Open the door to the fully up position (one of the rotary actuator arms is against its mechanical stop).
NOTE: You cannot close the door manually if it hits the
____
upstops heavily.
(b)
If the door hits the upstops heavily, do these steps: 1) If possible use electrical power to close the door. 2) Manually lift up on the bottom edge of the door. Then turn
the the manual drive counterclockwise to close the door.
(c)
Manually open the door until the clearance between the stop lug and the stop block on the rotary actuator is between 0.10 and
0.13 inch (Detail D, Fig. 405).
(d) Adjust the switch in its mounting bracket until it operates.
NOTE: With electrical power supplied, you can push the red
____ warning light on the cargo handling panel above the cargo door to do an electrical check on the switch operation. The switch operates when the red light flashes. Push the light again to put the light off.
(e)
Make sure the switch keying washer and lockwasher are on opposite sides of the switch mounting flange as shown in Fig. 405.
(f)
Make sure the tang on the keying washer engages the detent in the mounting flange.
(g)
Tighten the adjustment nuts (View E, Fig. 405).

MAINTENANCE MANUAL
S 724-024
(5)
Do a test on the lift actuator and rotary actuator without electrical power supplied as follows:
(a)
Put a speed wrench into the internal manual drive socket of the lift actuator and turn it 50 turns clockwise.
(b)
Make sure the two rotary actuator arms move in the door open direction at the same time.
(c)
With the speed wrench engaged, turn the manual drive 50 turns counterclockwise.
(d)
Make sure the two rotary actuator arms move in the door close direction at the same time.
(e)
Open the door to the fully up position (one of the rotary actuator arms is against its mechanical stop).
NOTE: You cannot close the door manually if it hits the
____
upstops heavily.
(f)
If the door hits the upstops heavily, do these steps: 1) If possible use electrical power to close the door. 2) Manually lift up on the bottom edge of the door. Then turn
the the manual drive counterclockwise to close the door.
(g)
Manually turn the actuator in the door close direction until the clearance between the mechanical stop and the rotary actuator upstop on the actuator which touches the stop is from
0.10 to 0.13 inch.
(h)
Measure the clearance between the upstop and the actuator arm on other rotary actuator.
(i)
Make sure the clearance is from 0.10 to 0.20 inch.
(j)
If the clearance between the upstop and actuator arm on the other rotary actuator is not from 0.10 to 0.20 inch as shown in the above step, adjust the arm which is not against its mechanical stop as follows: 1) Remove the bolt that connects the adapter tube to the drive
torque tube.
2) Move the adapter tube off the rotary actuator input spline and lift or lower the arm to make the vertical distance equal at the two actuator arms.
3) Turn the rotary actuator input shaft until the internal driving dogs are engaged in the door opening direction. 4) Keep the door in the open position.
