(ao) Remove the plug from the manual drive port of the lift
actuator. (ap) Put a speed wrench in the manual drive port. (aq) Turn the lift actuator in the door open direction 30 turns. (ar) Remove the cover from the manual drive port of the hook
actuator.
CAUTION: USE A TORQUE WRENCH WITH A DIAL INDICATOR TO FIND WHEN THE
_______ ACTUATOR MANUAL STOPS TOUCH EACH OTHER (FIG. 506). TOO MUCH TORQUE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE INTERNAL STOPS.
(as) Put a speed wrench in the manual drive socket. Push the manual release plunger (door restraint) to release the hook torque tube and turn the actuator approximately 112 turns counterclockwise to the rigged-open position. Make sure the torque necessary to turn the actuator is not more than 25 pound-inches.
NOTE: The manual release plunger can be released after the
____ restraint arm is clear of the stop cam on the torque tube.

(at) Do these steps to remove the pre-load from the lift mechanism:
NOTE: Do these steps only if you closed the door electrically.
____
1) Put a speed wrench in the exterior manual drive port of the lift actuator and turn it 190 to 210 turns counterclockwise. Make sure the drive mechanism operates smoothly.
2) With an observer inside cargo compartment, turn the lift actuator 200 turns clockwise to move the door to until one or two hook track outboard surfaces just touch the pins. a) Make sure the drive mechanism operates smoothly.
3) Operate the lift actuator manually clockwise 15 turns.
CAUTION: USE A TORQUE WRENCH WITH A DIAL INDICATOR TO FIND WHEN THE
_______ ACTUATOR MANUAL STOPS TOUCH EACH OTHER (FIG. 502). TOO MUCH TORQUE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE INTERNAL STOPS.
(au) Put a speed wrench in the manual drive port of the hook actuator and turn the actuator approximately 112 turns clockwise to the rigged-closed position. Make sure the torque necessary is not more than 25 pound-inches.
(av) Put the door control switch in the CLOSE position to make sure the door does is fully closed.
(aw) On the aft cargo door, make sure there is a 0.07-inch (minimum) skin clearance at the forward hook level.
CAUTION:_______IN CASE THE DOOR DOES NOT OPEN, STOP IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT OPERATE THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH. HOLDING THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH MAY DAMAGE THE ACTUATOR. WAIT AT LEAST 1 MINUTE BEFORE SECOND ATTEMPT. IF THE DOOR STILL DOES NOT OPEN, WAIT AT LEAST 10 MINTUES BEFORE THIRD ATTEMPT.
(ax) Put the door control switch in the OPEN position. 1) Make sure the door moves smoothly to the fully open position in 35 seconds or less.

(ay) Make sure the rotary actuator arms do not touch the ceiling panels.
(az) Make sure the clearance between the mechanical up stops on one of the rotary actuators is 0.10 to 0.13 inch and 0.10 to 0.20
inch.
NOTE:____ One clearance is 0.10 to 0.13 inch and the other will be
0.10 to 0.20 inch.
(ba) Hold the door links with your hands and try to turn each link around its bearings. Make sure that none of the links can turn.
NOTE: The door is not correctly rigged if you can turn a link.
____
(bb) Put a speed wrench in the interior manual drive port of the lift actuator and turn it 50 turns counterclockwise. 1) Make sure the two rotary actuator arms start to move down
at the same time.
(bc) Turn the lift actuator 50 turns clockwise to the initial position. 1) Make sure the two rotary actuator arms start to move up at
same time.
CAUTION: YOU MUST PERMIT A ONE MINUTE TIME DELAY AFTER YOU OPEN OR
_______ CLOSE THE DOOR TO LET THE MOTOR TO COOL. DAMAGE TO THE MOTOR CAN OCCUR IF NO TIME DELAY IS PERMITTED.
(bd) With an observer in the cargo compartment, hold the door control switch in the CLOSE position. Make sure the door moves smoothly to fully closed position in 27 seconds or less. Make sure the hooks engage with the hook pins smoothly.
