CAUTION: USE A TORQUE WRENCH WITH A DIAL INDICATOR TO FIND
_______ WHEN THE INTERNAL STOPS TOUCH EACH OTHER (FIG. 506). TOO MUCH TORQUE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE STOPS.
1) Set the latch actuator in the rigged-closed position: a) Turn the latch actuator with a torque wrench to find when the internal stops touch each other (Fig. 506). b) Then turn the latch actuator in the other direction the number of turns shown (Fig. 506).
2) Adjust the four lower pushrods until you can install the rig pin LCD-1(5) through the rig pin holes in the four lower latch cams (View A-A, Fig. 503).
3) Do the initial adjustment of the midspan latch pushrods: a) On the forward cargo door, make sure the lower midspan latch pushrods are 13.2-inches long. b) On the aft cargo door, do the steps that follow:

Make sure the lower midspan latch pushrod on the forward side of the door is 12.94 inches
-
Make sure the lower midspan latch pushrod on the aft side of the door is 9.00 inches.
c) Adjust the length of the upper midspan latch pushrods until you can install the rig pins LCD-1(6) in the rig pin holes in the midspan latch cams (View B-B, Fig. 503).
NOTE: Do the final adjustment of the midspan latch
____ pushrods after you adjust the midspan latch pin fittings.
4) Remove the rig pins (four LCD-1(5) and two LCD-1(6) rig pins). 5) Adjust the latch closed and the two midspan latch open switches.

Adjust the latch fitting (Fig. 503):
(a)
Make sure the airplane is on its gear (preferred method) and its operating weight is zero, or that the airplane is leveled on jacks (alternative method).
(b)
Make sure the hook pin fittings are correctly adjusted.
NOTE: Refer to the "Adjust the hook pin fittings" paragraph.

(c) If dummy latch pins are not available, adjust the latch fittings:

CAUTION:_______DO NOT INSTALL THE PINS IN BACKWARDS. THIS WILL CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE FITTINGS, LATCH CAMS, AND ADJACENT STRUCTURE.
MAKE SURE THAT THE PINS PROTRUDE OUT OF THE LATCH PIN FITTINGS MORE THAN 0.75 INCHES ON THE SIDE OF THE FITTING WHERE THEY ENGAGE THE LATCH CAM.
CAUTION:_______ IN CASE THE DOOR DOES NOT OPEN, STOP IMMEDIATELY. DO
NOT OPERATE THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH. HOLDING THE
DOOR CONTROL SWITCH MAY DAMAGE THE ACTUATOR. WAIT AT
LEAST 1 MINUTE BEFORE SECOND ATTEMPT. IF THE DOOR
STILL DOES NOT OPEN, WAIT AT LEAST 10 MINUTES BEFORE
THIRD ATTEMPT.
1) Open door, install latch pins, and make sure the latch fittings are loose.
2) For latch pins that were not removed, if the sealant around the latch pins has been loosened, seal the latch pins again.
3) For new latch pins, seal the latch pins as follows:
WARNING: DO NOT GET METHYL ETHYL KETONE (MEK) IN YOUR
_______ MOUTH OR EYES, OR ON YOUR SKIN. DO NOT BREATHE THE FUMES FROM MEK. PUT ON A PROTECTIVE SPLASH GOGGLES AND GLOVES WHEN YOU USE MEK. KEEP MEK AWAY FROM SPARKS, FLAME, AND HEAT. MEK IS A POISONOUS AND FLAMMABLE SOLVENT WHICH CAN CAUSE INJURY OR DAMAGE.
a) Clean parts with Methyl Ethyl Ketone.
b) Remove sealant that is left with a plastic scraper.
c) Apply sealant to the outside diameter of the pin and
the inside diameter of the fitting. d) Install the latch pin while the sealant is wet in the
direction shown in Fig. 508. e) Apply the sealant to the bolt shank and threads. f) Install the bolt and washer through the latch fitting
and pin while the sealant is wet. g) Install the nut on the bolt threads while the sealant is wet. h) Completely cover the bolt head, nut, washer, and threads with sealant. i) Clean the excess sealant from the bearing face of the pin with MEK. 4) Adjust the latch fittings as you close the door so the serrated plates are not damaged:
