LEAST 1 MINUTE BEFORE SECOND ATTEMPT.  IF THE DOOR
STILL DOES NOT OPEN, WAIT AT LEAST 10 MINUTES BEFORE

 THIRD ATTEMPT.
 1)  Open door, install latch pins, and make sure the latch fittings are loose.
 2)  If this is the last time the latch pin is to be installed (Fig. 405), do the steps that follow: a) Cover the outside diameter of the latch pin and the
inside diameter of the latch fitting with wet BMS 5-95 sealant. b) Install the latch pin into the latch fitting while the sealant is still wet.
NOTE: Make sure that the latch pins are installed
____ correctly (Fig. 405, Sheet 6).
 c)  AIRPLANES WITH LATCH PIN RETAINING CLIP; Install the bolt and latch pin retaining clip with the pieces coated with BMS 5-95 sealant (Fig 405, Sheet 7).
 d)  AIRPLANES WITHOUT LATCH PIN RETAINING CLIP; Install the bolt and nut with the pieces coated with BMS 5-95 sealant.
 e) Apply the sealant to all the mating surfaces of the retaining fastener and fitting. f) Remove the unwanted sealant from the bearing face of the pin. 3) Adjust the latch fittings as you close the door so the serrated plates are not damaged:

_______ WHEN YOU DRIVE THE ACTUATOR TO THE INTERNAL STOPS. YOU CAN DAMAGE ACTUATOR.
 b)  While adjusting the latch fittings, slowly move latch actuator to rigged closed position per Fig. 407.
 4)  Adjust the latch fittings in the forward and aft directions to get the necessary clearance between the latch cam and fitting (View C, Fig. 405).
 5)  Adjust the latch fittings in the in vertical and lateral direction (View D-D, Fig. 405) to get the best possible concentric alignment of the cam and latch pin (for minimum rotating friction).
NOTE: The serrated plates and laminated shims are
____
 installed for the adjustment.

 6)  Make sure the serrations are correctly engaged, and tighten latch fitting adjustment fasteners per Detail C, Fig. 405.
 7)  With the door closed, the hook actuator set in the closed position, and the latch actuator set at the open position, do this check: a) Check the clearance between the latch pins and the
latch cams by inserting a 0.002 minimum feeler gage between latch pin and latch cam around entire periphery of latch pin.
 8)  Rotate the latch actuator to the closed position and do this check: a) Check the clearance between the latch pins and the
latch cams by inserting a 0.002 minimum feeler gage between latch pin and latch cam around entire periphery of latch pin.
 (c)  If dummy latch pins are available, adjust latch fittings as follows (Fig. 405):
CAUTION:_______IN CASE THE DOOR DOES NOT OPEN, STOP IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT OPERATE THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH. HOLDING THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH MAY DAMAGE THE ACTUATOR. WAIT AT LEAST 1 MINUTE BEFORE SECOND ATTEMPT. IF THE DOOR STILL DOES NOT OPEN, WAIT AT LEAST 10 MINUTES BEFORE THIRD ATTEMPT.
 1) Open the cargo door if it is necessary for access. 2) Remove the latch pin (8 locations) from the latch fitting.
