(c) Then turn the latch actuator in the other direction the correct
number of turns to the "switches set to cut power" position
(Fig. 506).
(d) Adjust the switch adjustment bolt until the switch operates at
this point.
NOTE:____ You can do this electrically if you do a check for
continuity between pins 5 and 6 on plug P3 on the
cargo door junction box.
The switch is operated when there is no continuity.
(e) Make sure the green LATCHES CLOSED light on the external door
control panel comes on when the latch closed switch operates.
NOTE: The master latch lock handle is open during this step.

Adjust the midspan latch open switches as follows:
(a)
Open the door to get access to the switches.
CAUTION: USE A TORQUE WRENCH WITH A DIAL INDICATOR TO FIND WHEN THE
_______ INTERNAL STOPS TOUCH EACH OTHER (FIG. 506). TOO MUCH TORQUE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE STOPS.
(b)
Manually turn the latch actuator in the open direction (counterclockwise) until the internal stops touch each other (Fig. 506).
(c)
Manually turn the latch actuator in the closed direction (clockwise) twenty-five turns.
(d)
Adjust the midspan latch open switches to close at this point.
(e)
Do the steps that follow to make sure the switches operate correctly: 1) Make sure there is continuity through switch S6 between
pins 8 and 13 on connector P3 for the cargo door junction box.

2) Make sure there is continuity through switch S9 between pin 13 on connector P3 for the cargo door junction box and pin 4 on connector P5 for the door restraint solenoid.
NOTE: Manually turn the latch actuator in the open
____ direction (counterclockwise) when you measure the continuity through the switches.
CAUTION:_______IN CASE THE DOOR DOES NOT OPEN, STOP IMMEDIATELY. DO NOT OPERATE THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH. HOLDING THE DOOR CONTROL SWITCH MAY DAMAGE THE ACTUATOR. WAIT AT LEAST 1 MINUTE BEFORE SECOND ATTEMPT. IF THE DOOR STILL DOES NOT OPEN, WAIT AT LEAST 10 MINUTES BEFORE THIRD ATTEMPT.
(f) Fully close the door. Then open door electrically to
approximately the free-hang position.
NOTE: The door must open electrically because the latch
____ position at the electrical shutoff shows if the switch adjustment is correct.

CAUTION: USE A TORQUE WRENCH WITH A DIAL INDICATOR TO FIND WHEN THE
_______ INTERNAL STOPS TOUCH EACH OTHER (FIG. 506). TOO MUCH TORQUE CAN CAUSE DAMAGE TO THE STOPS.
(16) Adjust the hook closed switch (Fig. 505):
(a)
Open the door to get access to the switch.
(b)
Loosen the nuts on the adjustment bolt and the switch and completely back-off the adjustment bolt and the switch in its support bracket.
NOTE: This is to make sure the bolt does not bottom out
____ the switch during subsequent adjustment.

(c) Manually crank hook actuator in closed direction until internal stops are contacted, as determined using a torque wrench per Fig. 506.
NOTE:____ Make sure the hooks do not touch the door structure or bottom out the hook closed switch.
(d) (e) Move the hook closed switch and adjustment bolt with your fingers until the bolt pushes the switch plunger to the end of its inward travel (the plunger is bottomed).Move the adjustment bolt 1/2 to 3/4 turns away from the switch.
