WING GEAR ALTERNATE EXTENSION SYSTEM DIFFERENTIAL AND SAFETY VALVE -

1. General_______
A. This procedure contains two tasks:
(1)
The removal of the differential and safety valve.
(2)
The installation of the differential and safety valve.
B.
These procedures are for the differential and safety valve assemblies installed on the keel beam in the forward area of the wheel well for the wing gear. The cable pulleys for the cables are part of the assembly.
C.
To remove the differential and safety valve these steps are necessary:
-Disconnect the electrical connectors from the electrical actuators
-Loosen the turnbuckles
-Remove the cables from the differential
-Disconnect the differential output rod from the differential
-
Remove the differential and safety valve.
D.
To install the differential and safety valve these steps are necessary:
-
Install the hydraulic fittings in the safety valve
-
Install the differential and safety valve on the keel beam
-Connect the hydraulic lines
-Install the cables on the drums
-
Connect the differential output rod to the differential
-
Connect the electrical connectors to the electrical actuators
-Do the operational test for the alternate extension system.

Prepare for the Removal

(1)
Make sure the ground locks are installed on the landing gear (AMM 09-11-00/201).

Make sure the control handle for the landing gear is in the "DN" position.

WARNING:_______OBEY THE INSTALLATION PROCEDURE FOR THE DOOR LOCKS. THE DOORS OPEN AND CLOSE QUICKLY. THE MOVEMENT OF THE DOORS CAN CAUSE INJURIES TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Install the door locks on the body gear doors (AMM 32-00-30/201).

Disconnect the door operator rods from the wing gear doors
(AMM 32-00-30/201).

Pressurize hydraulic system No. 4 (AMM 29-11-00/201).

Put the ground release handle for the doors to the "doors closed" position.

Remove the pressure from hydraulic systems No. 1 and 4
