 G. Capacity Test of Brake System Fuses
 S 722-012
 (1)
Do these steps to do a test of the normal brake system fuses (Fig. 202):
 (a)
Remove the screw and washer from the end of the bleeder valve.
 (b)
Install a bleed hose on the end of the bleeder valve.
 (c)
Put a container with a minimum capacity of 1 U.S. gallon near the brake bleed port so that fluid can flow from the bleed hose into the container.
 (d)
Push on the brake pedals to their maximum travel and apply full brake pressure.
NOTE: You can set the parking brake to keep brake pressure
____ applied during the fuse capacity test.
 (e)
Put goggles on for eye protection.
 (f)
While you apply full brake pressure, open the bleeder valve one and one-half turns.
 (g)
Let the fluid flow into the container until the flow stops to show that the fuse has closed.
NOTE: Fluid can flow out of the brake very quickly and
____ intermittently. Make sure it does not splash out of the container.
CAUTION: TIGHTEN THE BRAKE BLEEDER VALVE TO 45 POUND-INCHES MAXIMUM
_______ TO INSTALL OR CLOSE THE VALVE. IF YOU TIGHTEN THE VALVE TO MORE THAN 45 POUND-INCHES, YOU WILL DAMAGE THE BRAKE BLEEDER ADAPTER AND CAUSE THE BRAKE TO HAVE A LEAK.
 (h)
Close the bleeder valve.
 (i)
Make sure that the quantity of fluid collected in the container is 60-95 cubic inches (1.04-1.64 quarts).

 (3)  S 722-014Do the normal brake system fuses test at each of the sixteen brake positions.
NOTE:____ Make sure to monitor the hydraulic reservoir quantity carefully. The normal brake system test series will use approximately 4.2 to 6.6 U.S. gallons of hydraulic fluid.
 (4)  S 862-015Remove the pressure from hydraulic system No. 4 (AMM 29-11-00/201).
