(b) If it is necessary, install a new bearing in the lower bearing retainer.
NOTE: To install a new bearing wet the surface of the bearing
____ with BMS 5-95 sealant and roller swage the bearing.
(c)
Install the lower bearing retainer with bolts, washers and nuts (3 locations).
(d)
Make sure the bearing for the top mounting bracket is a new bearing.
(e)
Apply the sealant to the bearing for the top mounting bracket.
(f)
Install the bearing in the top mounting bracket.
(g)
Install the top mounting bracket onto the higher end of the bus crank assembly.
(h)
Apply corrosion-preventive compound to the threads on the shaft of the bus crank assembly.
(i)
Install the nut and washer on the shaft.
(j)
Tighten the nut.
(k)
Turn the bus crank assembly.
(l)
Move the bus crank assembly aft through the cross-structure.
(m)
Install the lower end of the bus crank assembly into the lower bearing retainer.
(n)
Apply corrosion-preventive compound to the threads on the lower end of the shaft.
(o)
Install the washer and nut on the shaft.
(p)
Tighten the nut.
(q)
Attach the top mounting bracket to the structure with nuts, washers and bolts (4 locations).

Do the steps that follow to connect the bus crank assembly to the rods:
(a)
Turn the lower lever arm on the bus crank assembly.
1) Make sure to have a clearance of 1.315-1.345 inches between the inboard edge of the lever and the outboard edge of the stop (Ref Fig. 401).
(b)
Hold the lever in this position.
(c)
Connect the two bus rods to the forward levers of the bus crank assembly. 1) Apply the sealant to the bolts, washers and nuts. 2) Install the bolts, washers and nuts.

3) Tighten the nuts.
(d) Put the plastic strap into its position and install the two
screws.
(e) Connect the horizontal pushrods to the bus crank assembly with
nuts, bolts and washers.
NOTE:____ Make sure that the rig pins in the bellcrank assembly
can move in and out freely. If the rig pins cannot move
freely, adjust the rod ends.
1) Apply the sealant to the bolts, nuts and washers.
2) Install the bolts, washers and nuts.
3) Tighten the nuts.
(f) Connect the control quadrant push rod to the lower lever on the
bus crank assembly with nuts, bolts and washers.
1) Apply the sealant to the bolt, nut and washer before
installation.
2) Adjust the rod ends if it is necessary.
(g) Remove the rig pins from the bell crank assembly (4 locations).
(h) Remove the rig pins from the control quadrants of the metering
valves.
(i) Release the lower lever on the bus crank assembly.
