Install the Ground Release Handle (Fig. 401)

Make sure the door operator rods for the wing and body gear are disconnected from the doors (Ref 32-00-30/201).

Make sure the door actuators are in the "Doors Closed" position.

Put the differential drums on the stops. Turn the left differential drums counterclockwise (right differential drums clockwise) against the stops. Look from the end of the shafts with the output cranks when you do this.

Put the ground release handle in its position on the keel beam and install the five bolts that attach it.

(7) S 494-029Make sure the rig pins AE/GD-5 (LH) or AE/GD-6 (RH) are installed in the bus quadrant.
(8) S 434-030Put the cables through the pulleys at the rear of the handle mechanism.
(9) S 434-031Connect the left and right cables to the handle quadrant and install the cotter pins.

Use the turnbuckles that are forward of the handle near the keel beam to tighten the cables.
