MAINTENANCE MANUAL
WARNING:_______ MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF ALL
CONTROL SURFACES BEFORE YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER.
AILERONS, RUDDERS, ELEVATORS, FLAPS, SPOILERS, LANDING
GEAR, AND THRUST REVERSERS CAN MOVE QUICKLY WHEN YOU
SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS
AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(f)
Pressurize hydraulic system No. 2 (AMM 29-11-00/201).
(g)
Do check of the QTY (quantity) indication for hydraulic systems No. 1, 2, 3, and 4 on the EICAS status display (AMM 31-61-00/001). 1) Make sure the QTY indication for each hydraulic system is
between 0.80 and 1.10. 2) Make a record to the QTY indication for each hydraulic system.
(h)
Slowly push one set of brake pedals to the limit of travel, hold momentarily, and then release. Repeat this cycle 10 times.
NOTE: During manual operation of the brakes, monitor the QTY
____ indication for each hydraulic system. If there is movement of hydraulic fluid from one system to another, stop all operations before the QTY indication for any system becomes 1.15. A QTY indication of 1.15 indicates that a hydraulic system is filled to the maximum level. With a system in this condition, more hydraulic fluid added to the system can cause fluid to release from the system. It will then be necessary to clean the area around and under the related hydraulic reservoir.
(i)
Do a check of the QTY (quantity) indication for hydraulic systems No. 1, 2, 3, and 4 on the EICAS status display (AMM 31-61-00/001). 1) Make sure that the QTY indication for each hydraulic system
did not change by more than 0.05.
(j)
Remove the power from hydraulic system No. 2 (AMM 29-11-00/201).
(k)
Make sure the landing gear ground locks are installed (AMM 09-11-00/201).

WARNING:_______ YOU MUST CAREFULLY DO THE STEPS IN THE TASK BELOW TO
INSTALL THE DOOR LOCKS ON THE LANDING GEAR DOORS. THE
DOORS CAN CLOSE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT INSTALL THE DOOR
LOCKS CORRECTLY. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR
DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(l)
Do this task: "Installation of the Door Locks on the Wing Landing Gear" (AMM 32-00-30/201).
(m)
Do this task: "Installation of the Door Locks on the Body Landing Gear" (AMM 32-00-30/201).
(n)
Pressurize hydraulic systems No. 1 and 4 (AMM 29-11-00/201).
(o)
Do a check of the QTY (quantity) indication for hydraulic systems No. 1, 2, 3, and 4 on the EICAS status display (AMM 31-61-00/001). 1) Make sure the QTY indication for each hydraulic system is
between 0.80 and 1.10. 2) Make a record of the QTY indication for each hydraulic system.
WARNING: MAKE SURE ALL PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE AWAY FROM THE DOOR
_______ OPERATION AREA. A FAST MOVEMENT OF THE DOORS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
(p) Do this series of steps for the operation of the landing gear control handle 10 times:
NOTE: During operation of the landing gear control handle,
____ monitor the QTY indication for each hydraulic system.
1) Push and hold the LOCK OVRD (override) button on the Pilot's Main Instrument Panel, P2.
NOTE: With the airplane on the ground, you must use the
____ LOCK OVRD (override) button to move the handle to the UP position. This will permit the landing gear control handle to move past a lock. This lock usually prevents movement of the handle to the UP position when the airplane is on the ground.
