Do these steps to install the surge accumulator:
(a)
Lubricate new O-rings and backup rings, and the reducer union.
(b)
Install the O-rings on the fittings.
(c)
Install the fittings on the ends of the surge accumulator.
(d)
Fill the surge accumulator with hydraulic fluid.
(e)
Put a cap on the end of the fitting.
(f)
Hold the accumulator in the position in which it is to be installed.
(g)
Align the gas line with the mating fiting on the surge accumulator.
(h)
Install the clamps with bolts washers and nuts.
(i)
Tighten the nuts.
(j)
Connect the gas line and the hydraulic line to the surge accumulator.

Fill the surge accumulator with gas (AMM 12-15-11/301).

Pressurize hydraulic system No. 4 (AMM 29-11-00/201).

Do these steps to do a check of the surge accumulator installation:
(a)
Set the parking brake.
(b)
Wait about 5 minutes while the surge accumulator fills with hydraulic fluid.
(c)
Make sure the pressure gage for the surge accumulator shows a pressure which is more than 300 psi.
NOTE: The indicator needle on the pressure gage must be in
____
the 3 o'clock position.
(d)
Make sure the pressure gage indicator needle stays stable at the 3 o'clock position.
(e)
Look for leaks at the fittings of the surge accumulator.
(f)
Release the parking brake.
(g)
Look at the charging instructions marker adjacent to the surge accumulator.
(h)
Make sure the pressure indication on the pressure gage goes back to the correct precharge pressure as shown on the charging instructions marker.

Put the Airplane Back to Its Usual Condition.
(1)
If it is necessary, set the parking brake.

THE DOOR LOCKS FROM THE LANDING GEAR DOORS. THE DOORS CAN
CLOSE QUICKLY IF YOU DO NOT REMOVE THE DOOR LOCKS CORRECTLY.
THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS OR DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.
