BRAKE METERING VALVE ASSEMBLY - REMOVAL/INSTALLATION

1. General
_______
A. This procedure contains two tasks:
(1)
The removal of the brake metering valve assembly (referred to as the valve assembly)
(2)
The installation of the valve assembly.
B.
There are two valve assemblies on the airplane. One is in the wheel well for the right wing landing gear. The other is in the wheel well for the left wing landing gear.
C.
Each valve assembly contains a primary metering valve, an alternate metering valve and a wheel despin actuator. Bolts hold these parts together into one assembly. You will replace the assembly as a unit.
D.
You must remove hydraulic pressure before you remove the valve assembly. You will do the operational test of the hydraulic brake system after you install the valve assembly.

(1)
Install the ground locks in all landing gear (AMM 09-11-00/201).
(2)
Install chocks at each wheel.
(3)
Release the parking brake.
