 (4)  
Do the steps that follow to adjust the brake cable tension and the stop gap:

 (a)  
Make sure you disconnect all four bus crank assembly pushrods and they are hanging free.

 (b)  
Install the rig pins No. 3 and No. 4 for the left and right brake metering valve control quadrant.

 (c)  
Adjust the left and right side brake cable tensions to the values shown in the table (Fig. 501).


 NOTE: Make sure you maintain each cable tension to a 1.315 -
____ 1.345 inch gap between the inboard edge of the lower lever arm of the brake pedal bus crank assembly and the outboard edge of the stop. A stop gap gage block may make this adjustment easier. When you are adjusting the cable tension, make sure you can move the rig pins No. 3 and No. 4 freely in their holes with the brake metering valves in the fully off position.
 (d)  
Remove the rig pins No. 3 and No. 4 for the left and right brake metering valve control quadrant.

 (e)  
Temporarily reconnect all four bus crank assembly pushrods.

 (f)  
Push the left and right brake pedals to the stops 3 times.

 (g)  
Disconnect one end of each of the four bus crank assembly pushrods and permit them to hang free.

 (h)  
Install the rig pins No. 3 and No. 4 for the brake metering valve control quadrant.


 NOTE: Make sure you put the brake metering valve assemblies to
____ their off position and you can move the rig pins freely in their holes. Make sure you maintain the 1.315 -
1.345 inch gap.

 (5)  
Do the steps that follow to adjust the captain's and first officer's bus crank assembly pushrods (Fig. 502 sheet 1):

 (a)  
Install the rig pins No. 1 and 2 of the left and right brake pedal to hold the pedals in the off position.

 (b)  Adjust the four bus crank assembly pushrods to the necessary length to connect the brake pedal bus crank assembly while you are maintaining the 1.315 - 1.345 inch gap and a free fit of the rig pins No. 3 and No. 4.
 NOTE: While you are making this adjustment, make sure the rig
____ pins No. 1 and No. 2 of the left and right brake pedal are not deflected which will affect the accuracy of the adjustment.
 (c)  
Connect all four bus crank assembly pushrods.

 (d)  
Remove the rig pins No. 1 and No. 2 of the left and right pedal and the rig pins No. 3 and No. 4 for the left and right brake metering valve control quadrant.

 (e)  
Push the left and right brake pedals to the stops 3 times.

 (f)  
With the pedals in the off position, make sure you maintain the


 1.315 - 1.345 inch gap and can move all four rig pins freely in their holes.
 (g)  Remove all four rig pins.

Install the lock clips on the turnbuckles and pushrods which are adjusted (AMM 20-11-02/401).
