WARNING: MAKE SURE THAT PERSONS AND EQUIPMENT ARE CLEAR OF ALL CONTROL
_______ SURFACES BEFORE YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. AILERONS, RUDDERS, ELEVATORS, FLAPS, SPOILERS, LANDING GEAR, AND THRUST REVERSERS CAN MOVE QUICKLY WHEN YOU SUPPLY HYDRAULIC POWER. THIS CAN CAUSE INJURY TO PERSONS AND DAMAGE TO EQUIPMENT.

Pressurize hydraulic systems 1, 2, and 4 (AMM 29-11-00/201).

Do a check of the hydraulic pressure indication as follows:
(a)
Make sure the PRESS lights for hydraulic systems 1, 2, and 4, on the Pilot's Overhead Panel, P5, are off.
(b)
Make sure the BRAKE SOURCE light on the Captain's Main Instrument Panel, P1, is off.

(c) Make sure these pressure indications are the same (|100 psi):
1) The pressure indication of the HYD BRAKE PRESS gage, on the P1 panel 2) The pressure indication for hydraulic system 4 on the EICAS hydraulic synoptic display (AMM 31-61-00/001).

(3) Quickly push one set of brake pedals to the limit of travel and monitor these indications:
NOTE: If you cannot monitor all indications during one cycle of
____ brake operation, monitor one indication during each of three cycles.
(a)
Make sure the pressure indication of the HYD BRAKE PRESS gage, on the P1 panel, momentarily decreases.
(b)
Make sure the pressure indication for hydraulic system 4 on the EICAS hydraulic synoptic display monemtarily decreases.
(c)
Make sure the pressure indication for hydraulic system 1 and 2 on the EICAS hydraulic synoptic display does not change.

Release the brake pedals.

(6) Operate the elevators to decrease the pressure of hydraulic system 4 to less than 160 psi.

(b)
Make sure the pressure indication for hydraulic system 1 and 2 on the EICAS hydraulic synoptic display is 3000 |100 psi.
(c)
Make sure the PRESS light for hydraulic system 4, on the P5 panel, is on.
(d)
Make sure the PRESS lights for hydraulic systems 1 and 2, on the P5 panel, are off.
